pick? You're bidding mate ;)
Player pool will be using the soccerwiki database, which also has a player rating system which I can use for the players to be valued from. I need to make sure that England, France, Italy, Spain and Germany have symmetrical weekend's of play first.

Basics
> Pick a Professional club of your choice from England. France, Germany, Italy or Spain.
> Each club has a budget of 50m.
> Your squad must have 7 outfield players with 2 Defenders and at least 2 midfielders.
> The team you choose at the start will be the team you choose a Goalkeeper from.
> Minimum player bid = player rating - 80 according to : https://en.soccerwiki.org/wiki.php OR 3m, whichever is highest.
Scoring
> Your club scores goals depending on those scored by your players in RL against their opponent over a match weekend (Fri to Mon).
> You concede goals depending on those scored by your opponent's players +
> You also concede goals from set pieces depending on your Goalkeeper and Defenders RL goals conceded * 0.3.
> You will concede a goal from a penalty if more than one of your players does not make the matchday squad.
Bidding
> You can bid for a maximum of 2 players in each round of bidding.
> You must bid at least the minimum amount.
> The highest bidder, or earliest bidder in the event of a tie, will win in all bids.
> You can bid using a maximum of 1 decimal place.
> You may only have 1 player from any club.
> Further bidding rounds will end as soon as all clubs have 7 players.
Transfers during the season
> Each club is allowed a maximum of 10 Transfers during the season.
> Transferred players must not cause you to exceed your 50m budget.
> Transferred players must not be from a club who you already have a player in your team.
> You cannot choose to transfer out the same player in more than 1 Transfer bid.
> BID instruction is used to make a Transfer bid and all BIDs must take place between Monday and Tuesday in the thread.
> DRAFT is used to sign a player instantly and cost is 150% of his value. Drafts can only take place between Thursday and Friday.

Competition Format
> 1st League Stage - Two leagues of 8 teams. Top 4 from each qualify.
> 2nd League Stage - One league of 8 teams. Top 4 teams qualify.
> Semi-Final - Single leg match.
> Final - Single leg match.
Points - 3 for a win, 1 for a draw.
Goals against multipliers
1st League stage - 0.3 for all teams.
2nd League stage - 0.3 for teams who qualified in 4th place. 0.27 for teams who qualified in 2nd and 3rd and 0.24 for 1st place.
Semi-Final and Final - as above.

Pick Juventus
It looks very possible to see many 0-0 draws during the season...

This looks odd. If somenone picks an injury late in the week or during European Cup matches,then we need to overspend for a replacemet. And what if a player doesn't play as part of rotation system which may be decided at the last moment?
Maybe we could use some extra players as substitudes from the bench for such situations. Substitudes could have an overall limit with low value...

Well, quite a lot of players are listed as attacking midfielders...it is possible to more or less player with 5 forwards when I was looking.

The idea with it being that way round was that it gives people a chance to get a potential cheaper deal first.
What I could do instead, since European Cup matches are on Tuesday and Wednesday, allow bids from Tuesday through til Thursday. Drafts only being allowed from Friday through til Monday. I doubt Europa League will effect things much squad wise, most teams in the big leagues player their reserves in the group stage anyway.
I could additionally allow players to sign subs...but it would have to be that your default 7 would always be the 7 best players unless you announced a sub in the thread.
One other thing, lets say you had Ronaldo and gets injured and you transferred him out...
I think I will have to make it that any player who is one of your "original" seven members that you bid on at the start cannot be signed by anybody else, and would always return or be returnable to your squad for the same value that was paid. I think it would be unfair to have to bid twice for a player who you had at the start.
But any player that wasn't part of an original squad is always open to transfer to another team whenever he is transferred out.

Rotation players would always make the matchday squad still. It won't matter that he didn't play regarding penalties.
I'm not sure on the number of 0-0's. For sure there'd be some set piece goals scored.
