I don't know if anyone has ever heard of this great sport, or even goes to some of the meetings. If not I want to make you aware of it! F1 Stockcars are Chevy V8 powered cars which race round short ovals. Usually 20+ cars on track at once, makes for a very exciting evening. Hosted by many Speedway tracks across the country such as Belle Vue and Kings Lynn. Races take place all across England and Holland and occasionally Belgium and I believe they have an equivalent sport in New Zealand (Superstocks?) Here is a link to find out more:www.f1stockcars.com If you like fast and noisy evening with a good atmosphere then this is a good sport for you :)

I've saw them race at Autosport Intenational in January and they were ok ,but imo there are better forms of racing such as the Renault Clio cup.

Great to go and watch on a Saturday evening. Especially as the BEST shale oval in the country (Kings Lynn) is barely 2 miles from my house :P

Quote ( Toby Hazle @ March 18th 2010,19:13:08 )Do you think? I think they look awesome.
They look the tits and they look they can accelerate to the ends of the earth! I'll definitely be sending my husband along if he hasn't already heard of it.... Cheers Toby.

No problem, this sport needs awareness :) Yeah you should hear the engines on tarmac tracks like Birmingham or Hednesford. Brilliant! :D

Brisca, and all the formulas that come with it, are by far the most entertaining form of motorsport in the UK. I have been all over the country watching it but i still think that my home track at Foxhall, Ipswich is the best track in the country. It is such a shame we dont have the Briscas down more often.

Thought I would bump this thread again, get a bit of awareness about F1 Stockcars in the community! Both the World Semi Finals have happened recently to determine the grid for the final at Coventry Motor Speedway on September 4th. Semi Final 1(On Shale) - Sheffield's Owlerton Stadium - 25th July.VIDEO This Semi was nothing special due to most drivers being overly cautious. But at least my favourite driver Frankie Wainman Junior was the winner! Semi Final 2 (On Tarmac) - Buxton Raceway - 1st August.VIDEO This race was better, short fast track Buxton alway produces some action! Shame Andy Smith won it. BTW anyone living in the United Kingdom, watch BBC1 on Monday at 10:30pm! :)
