Alas, you just have to experiment. In the rules it says no race should use more than 280 litres. On the track info it says how high/low fuel consumption is - high would be erring towards this for the whole race.

If you assume worst case scenario and go for 280 litres across the whole race, you'll be overfueled but you will gather some info about consumption. Do it for a few races and you'll soon get a good grasp of what fuel load should be...

edit:

people saying foby are just boosting their post count - ignore them.

Your test track has a very high level of fuel consumption while Suzuka has a medium fuel consumption level. So you can calculate the fuel required per km for Laguna Seca and then adjust it downwards for Suzuka. How much less it will be is something you will learn with time but for this race you can assume that fuel required per km will be much lesser than Laguna Seca.

How about helping him instead of saying FOBY.

I am getting sick and tired of people like you saying FOBY.

Veselin we are limited to what can be said here, however if you search in forums I am sure you will find some useful information.

Alot of factors come into place within GPRO with regards to fuel. Different tracks require different fuel as you can imagine, its finding all this out through years of playing etc. However finding good friends, search on forums, joining teams all help in the long run.

For now I suggest searching forums. Mark Webster did a newbie guide which will help alot I suggest you hunt it down(check in FAQS, newbie guide and wiki) and sorry I do not have the link to hand.

At first you must collect data to see how much fuel per km is necessary for that kind of track. Here are also hint in track characteristic page what will help you to pick suitable fuel amount for similar fuel usage tracks even before you have exact data on them...Hint - add slighty more before you know exact numbers. For rookie it must be enough.

Later you can try to find what else affect fuel consumption as you will improve all areas of your game...

But direct answer how much fuel you need for upcomming race no one will and no one can tell you. Because it is restricted by rules (called FOBY) and also no one can tell you precize number without knowing all circumstances of your account.

If you notice the track characteristics for Leguna Seca ( /TrackDetails.asp?id=35 ) you'll get some information about that track. It says here that the fuel consumption is "very high" for that track. Suzuka on the other hand ( /TrackDetails.asp?id=13 ) has fuel consumption listed as "medium". This obviously means that for the same car and driver, you will require more fuel for Leguna Seca than for Suzuka for the same distance.

So, for the first race, you can take the fuel for Leguna Seca as a guide for determining the fuel required for Suzuka. Just decrease the fuel input a bit (about 10-15 litres over entire race should be fine). You will most probably still end up with some excess fuel, but bear in mind that this is your first race and you don't need to be exact for your first race.

Note down the fuel you require in Suzuka as well. Now you have 2 figures, the fuel consumption for Leguna Seca as well as for Suzuka. You can interpolate and find out fuel required for the next race.

Bear in mind though that there are a lot of factors which affect fuel consumption, so I advise you that till you determine what those are, always over-fuel a bit just in case the consumption is a bit more than what you have calculated.

One more thing:

Quote ( Veselin Stoyanov @ June 10th 2010,08:20:21 )

In testing reis I see that for 5 laps need 17 liters

It is always better to keep record of fuel consumption per kilometer rather than fuel consumption per lap because different tracks have laps of different lengths. Not only that, different tracks also have different race lengths (the race distance for Leguna Seca is less than that for Suzuka for example)

Well said Chinmay.

Everything you need has been posted here already Veselin. Unfortunately the nature of this game is that you do need to find out stuff by yourself but straight FOBY posts help nobody.

@ Jahrome....If you have nothing constructive to say then please just ignore the thread.

Anyway, the Wiki says a maximum of 280 (or 300) litres. See track characteristics & work it out from there.

And many of my team mates are using 20-30 litre more than my driver per race so you can't get an exact number.

Veselin, try doing this:

Every race you wright down the race distance (X km) and the total amoutn of fuel used (like Y l). Divide this tow numbers and get a Z km/l. Similar circuits have similar consumptions (medium, hig, very low etc). So you use past data to forecast your future needs. ;)

Other things have influence as well, but this is a good starting point for you =)

Gordon,

i'm playing this game for a few years, and i must say that i'm very happy with this atitude.

There are limits for what we can say, but we can say much to help new players.

@Vaselin
Welcome to the game.
I think that you have here some very usefull information, use it well....

You are reaching your next question....

The use of foul language, or suggested foul language against another player is surely worse than saying Foby.
Seriously if people need to swear, then they really aren't worth listening to.

That will not work. Simply because you will have races (already a few this season) where there is variable weather. You are on the right track though but you need to do this for each and every stint individually instead of just for the race itself.

You might be able to see if there is a correlation between weather changes as well doing by stint computations.
