Yes, worse than that. At the end of the day who was the last man to drive a Williams car to victory?
Senna and Maldonado might well have been crap on paper, but you at least knew both of them would give it some beans. Di Resta and Stroll? No.

Di Resta had his moments. That Bahrain race where he nearly got a podium, I recall a Singapore race I think he did well in. But yeah they certainly wouldn't be good. Stroll was very fortunate with that podium and that 6th place in Mexico. Then again the Williams car is woeful this season

At the beginning of the season Williams was good, easily in top 4, then at RedBull Ring they changed there hull, to new one and after that there performance dropped. It might be that they are testing the hull they have now and preparing for next season.

Given that the car is not up to par, scoring points with it, was a good drive. I have hopes for Stroll to develop into a good driver.

I think Williams has decided to go with Kubica but they have some issues to solve before pen can hit paper. e.g. the insurance payment to Kubica based on he couldn´t drive F1 any more.
The other reason I think it will be Kubica is that all other drivers have shown that they are good to a certain extend but never have shown anything that Kubica was able to show before his injury.
The big question of course will be can Kubica recreate them performances...

So does Hulk, yet neither he or Di Resta have managed a podium between them, never mind race victories. I really can't see sense in giving Di Resta a drive based on him being 'solid' for a 9th or 10th place in more races than he fails to score. Williams need a driver who can outdrive the car, not drive it efficiently. They need to find another driver to show what Valtteri Bottas did in 2014, and indeed what Lance showed in a handful of races this season.
I suppose the biggest surprise of all for me in this is that the likes of Sebastian Buemi arn't even being considered, yet he is possibly the best driver outside F1 who could probably adapt to an F1 car pretty swiftly given that he's been a test driver recently.

I see Ferrari (& Mercedes to an extent) are doing their usual quit threat for the next regulations change in 2021. Do you reckon the rules will be tweaked to make them happy?
I reckon F1 management should put there feet down and try and level the playing field in 2021. It might risk losing one or 2 big names but the same teams will always be at the front. Would be nice to see a Williams, Force India, Toro Rosso or Sauber take the odd win.
I do hope next year becomes a tight 3 way scrap between Max, lewis & Seb

Unfortunately I fear they will buckle to the pressure of Ferrari leaving. Ferrari has by far the biggest fan base and nobody will want to loose that.
On the other hand I am a firm believer in that no team should be bigger than the sport. And I am convinced if the changes really reflect what gets the masses then surely Ferrari will stay on nevertheless. And even if not - the short term loss should be made up in the long term when people see that the changes really worked for the sport.

I've followed F1 closely for 17-18 years now and I don't think six months have ever gone by without Ferrari "threatening to leave the sport". It is their favourite off-track hobby. The real issue is Liberty are not so keen to give Ferrari 100 million per year extra like Bernie did, and Ferrari have now started the negotiations for this money...

According to this we could have up to 8 compounds of tyres, including an already confirmed "Softer than Ultra-Soft" tyre to offer more flexibility
I reckon this would only work if teams were allowed to pick their own tyres for the events instead of pirelli still picking the 3 designated tyres
