Hello,

sorry if I have missed this somewhere but neither the forum nor google search brought me the desired answer.

Can I see which tyres my opponents have used? In real life I take a look at the car and know - is this information not available somewhere?

thank you very much for your kind help.

Cheers

This sort of information is not given. Its up to you to work out what type of compound they use. With experience it becomes easier to judge with time difference of Q1 and Q2, or in the race depends if they have Bad Tyres or do 1 less/1 more stop than you

It's not given out. Knowing your opponents strategy would make it too easy to defeat them.

in rookie its not enough important as everyone uses the same tyre brand so its a case of finding what is best for you personally to finish the race in less time with the car levels, driver attributes nad weather you have, rather than negotiating what other managers are doing with the compound choices each time. That said though, when you are new to the game its all going on as much as it is in the top level as its all new, and eventually youre wanting to know will make you better as you progress. For now though, enjoy the game in rookie. I would advise you concentrate more on what driver you can use in rookie,i think that is most important. consider it the place of where you launch yourself from, driver being very important.

Okay the info is not given.
I am enjoying the game and I am aware that the tyre is not the magic ingredient. But it is one of the many. And on the way of trying to learn looking at other peoples strategy helps.
I just find it odd that we don´t see this, as this is a piece of info which you can easily see in Real life racing.
But so be it - it will not kill me - I thought it was worth the Question.
Thanks for your replies.

Real life racing

As you might have realized by now, this isn't real life racing.
But I'm glad that you're still sticking with the game and trying your best. It will come to you, and testing can be a huge help in figuring out the basics of tyre wear and fuel consumption.

TBH,

I wouldn't see the harm in being able to see tire selections after the race (or even after qualifying has closed, though that would take some of the fun out of it).

So long as it's not before qualifying closes (that would be very bad)... i couldn't care less if they are shown or not.

I agree that after the race would be fine - showing the tires before or during the race could take a lot of suspense out of watching the race live.

One of my Favorite parts of this whole game is watching the race NOT knowing my opponents tyre choice and thus making it more exciting.

I feel like having an available record of opponents' past tyre selections is a bit too much information. Less uncertainty might lead to more homogeneity in strategies

I am aware that the tyre is not the magic ingredient.

The type of tires generates a strategy that can put you on the podium or at the end of the grid when the race ends, so for me is very important in each race

No, that would be unfair to those who can´t be around before races. If it is implemented I would only expect to see it after the race.
As in real life once you see which tyres your opponent has it is usually too late for you to change your own choice.

Well I think you could say that about several other parts/options as well. If you only have the "best" tyre choice is not going to win you a race, all other parts like settings, wear fuel and of course your driver stats have their influence, never mind the out of your control factors like changing weather, etc.

However, for those interested in such things, this could provide information on opponent strategy.

It may play a role in your strategy in competition with a certain manager/s.

I'd rather not know. We just got the live screen to add excitement to the race. Last thing I want is to now take away excitement of watching the race unfold.

You can see during/after a race what your opponents choose to do.
