You need to collect data from your races in order to evaluate gas consumption and tyre ware for the next races.
You also have the testing in order to change parameters and get data for 1 circuit by season.

In this game you should be patient and do a lot of races and after 10,20 or 30 races I suppose you will know what to do according to the type of circuit, wheather, driver ....

In my case, it is my third season (2 and a half actually) and each season I improve a lot my knowledge of the game. At first, you win sometimes points, then always in the points, then first podium and so on ....
