Great Race by Hamilton. Just unstoppable. Now Ferriari will get back. The problem is that the dont have a strong second driver. Rak is not doing well even when he has an opportunity like today. They says Seb wants Rak for the next season also but with his performances i think Ferrari cant agree. Maybe Verstaphen to Ferrari?

Quote ( Phil Maunder @ July 16th 2017,16:28:52 ) Vettel complaining about Verstappen not leaving him space at Vale right after he had just run him completely off the track at Stowe was funny.
He's such a whining little bitch
He's learned from the Nico Rosberg School of on track battling. Lesson 1: Run the opposition off track. Lesson 2: Cry about it.

Alonso still adamant that "he" determines what happens with the driver market this silly season and that he will be in a (capable) championship winning car next season. I don't know where he's seeing an opening though. If we assume doors are shut at Ferrari after his fall out there, and given the form of Bottas proving himself as not just a team player but being there with the likes of Hamilton and Vettel....why would Mercedes want to bin that off and bring in someone who is likely to prove to be more of a problem than anything. Only alternative seat option for him looks like Renault. But they're some way from challenging for anything higher than about P5 or P6 at best.

I don't see Alonso winning another championship sadly, there's no chance he'll join any of the front running teams in the future, and even with another engine supplier, I don't see McLaren becoming a title challenger anytime soon, same as Renault.

Wait what? Räikkönen beat Vettel on all fronts this weekend and your response is to say the second driver is not strong enough? What "opportunity" did he not take? He was going to take P2 comfortably, what did he need to do?

I understand this weekend was good for him. But look st past races and in standings. For a front runner team they need to be able to finish always in the top 4.
Example Ham and Bottas. Vettel is up there but by him self. Though i give you that this race Rak was more consistent.

If you look up the definition of "selective memory" this is what you will find.

We know the story about Räikkönen not being quick enough (I agree with it) but today is not the day to bring it up. Because he just had a very strong weekend. That's why I was surprised by your previous post.

Good drive by Hamiliton but a Great drive by Bottas.
Did the early pits cause the tyre problems late on?

And on this. Jonata as you are Italian, I'd be more upset over the fact you have a number 2 driver who manages to turn up to a none event in London and yet despite being one of the most talented drivers on the grid, fails to turn up for most races!

Bottas chasing them both down might have had something to do with it, forcing them to push the tyres just a bit too hard.

I didn't even know that the F1 event in London was a proper thing with all the 2017 cars & drivers until Hamilton was in the news for missing it.
I didn't watch the London event (whatever that actually was - I dunno if it was even on TV) and I didn't read about it afterwards either, I couldn't be ****ed and I also couldn't be ****ed who was there and who wasn't.
And can't see how a London GP will happen either tbh

Londoners would only go if the race was in thier borough, otherwise they would think it was still too far.
Anyway, a London GP wouldn't be for the benefit of Londoners but as a money sink for tourists. There are interested parties but I don't think anyone wants to actually pay to have a race which is why I can't see it happening

Quote ( Jasper Coosemans @ July 16th 2017,16:37:37 ) Lewis Hamilton's win was another Grand Chelem by the way. Pole, win, fastest lap and led every lap. Already the third of the season, after China and Canada.
Three Grand Chelems in one season is a record he now shares with: Ascari (1953) Clark (1963, 1965) Mansell (1992)
He has ten chances left to make it 4 in a season and be the sole record holder.
He now has 5 in his career which equals Ascari and Schumacher in second place of the all-time list, behind Clark who took 8 in the era when I believe there were no pit stops (making it easier to lead every lap). I've got three in one season and still have 2 races to get a 4th (and maybe even a 5th!) :-)

Yep Phil, the F1 event for London was on Sky's F1 channel and I think it was also put on another of their sky sports channels.
They brought out the drivers, some F1 cars from recent years and some slightly older ones. Had a few of them doing donuts for the crowds and also a concert which included the Kaiser Chiefs.
Good British GP today, pity the rain never came to spice it all up. Faultless performance by Hamilton awful luck for Ferrari at the end.

I suspected as much. There was an F1 street event in London a few years ago which had a few cars shuffling along in between some traffic cones, not even able to get out of 1st gear and then doing a few donuts and wheelspins in the designated donut and wheelspin area. The Asian tourists looked on in amazement - well actually no they didn't - the Asian tourists looked at their selfie-stick controls and wondered if the video they were taking was actually working or not.
This sounds like the same shit. Thanks for warning me it's on the Sky F1 channel, I'll dodge the repeats. Completely makes sense why Lewis would bin that off.
Kaiser Chiefs not really my bag either

Tbf, for someone who always says he loves the fans, fans are awesome, bla-bla, he could`ve at least show up, like all the other 19 drivers on the grid did, given it was in London.
