Andrew could have stopped every lynch of he wanted. His restriction was he can't stop his own lynch and he can only stop a person's lynch once, also an acceptable variation of the governor role. :) One shot is boring and as it wouldn't be commonly used anyway (unless it ended up with Winkley in which case I had visions of you blocking every lynch that you didn't have your vote on) so I prefer that variation. Would have been interesting to see multiple lynches blocked but when does a townie blocking a lynch (so he doesn't know if it's a good lynch) really benefit town?

If the governor had got recruited in to the masons, the role would have came much more powerful.

And it should be Shiraj/Matthew. Will fix that now. :)

Town Governor should be a one-shot ability; role PM suggests that Andrew could have stopped every lynch.

But he could only stop a lynch on any particular person once.

Anyhow, that still makes Governor a reasonably powerful role, particularly if the Governor was recruited into the mason group.

I certainly will be hosting big games in the future, if people want to play them :)

All you newbies are fully trained up now so no need to have a limited number of roles anymore so look out for lie detectors (just for Gordon), injured day cops and anything else my mind can make up (but still no jesters! :p). I might even throw in a vanilla or two ;)

Looking forward to playing a game or two first though before hosting another "Big One" :)

I was also curious to see an early Ryan lynch to see if you would block his lynch due to his claim (especially if he's announced you would be his vengekill target).
I was considering it on D2 when he had his kill stuck on me. Luckily, Ryan didn't post for the last few RL days of D2, so he got a bit forgotten in the lynch discussion.

Chris, if it is any consolation, I only got a read on two of the mafia group based on the way they interacted with you, or things that you had said. You may not be the best player, but at least you inadvertently cause discussion, and potentially useful discussion at that.

I saw it! :) I thought it made perfect sense and have no idea why Christoph didn't say straight away that he couldn't place the vote without punishment and the risk of modkill, as stated in his role PM.

Because I thought that it's always like that and others know it anyway. That's the reason why I only mentioned it when others asked about it. I haven't thought about it that it could be different :S

Your play after day 1 was really good, in my opinion, Shoaib. But day 1 was active lurking scummy horribleness! Lol.

And you are right that your day 1 play pretty much led to you being forced to claim on day 2.

Overall, you played well.

I didn't post a lot and I actually had no good reads. My last move on Bart/Shoaib was a mistake. You could clearly see I was unsure on who to "befriend". My goal was to lynch & kill scum first, so that they wouldn't NK me.

I know my claim was bad due to the LYLO but at the same time I couldn't have won the game I think

One thing I've learned from the last couple of games, is that for town to stand a chance ALL townies have to be fully active. Even if there are only one or two inactive townies, it makes it so much easier for Mafia to hide amongst them. How are you supposed to differentiate between an inactive town and an inactive scum? You can't.

Townies have to be sensibly active. Not obsessed over a plan or one train of thought, but open minded and actively drawing everyone into the game. Hundreds of pointless "activity" posts also make it very easy for scum to slip by.

Daryl's play reminded me of his play in my first mafia game - Winkley's Rockstar. He was scum there too. If town are going to let people lurk then that's town's fault.

Lynch all lurkers! Or at least vote them enough that they need to respond :p

I wasn't really lurking (as the classical lurk goes) - I posted a little bit of fluff whenever I was around, it's just that wasn't very often (by Winkley standards anyway - I don't get to play during the day much these days). But town were so busy concentrating on ways to shoot themselves in the foot that it didn't need any intervention.

Overall I thought I was more obvscum this game than my normal scum play. Being perpetual godfather makes you lazy.
