Thanks guys, our team (Malati family) deserved this for so long...

So it's finally official!!
This season has been so exciting, from thinking that we maybe had a shot at the Cup to realizing we could actually beat Tiger for the title with enough hot races to finally stealing the lead with 2 races to go and securing the Cup with the 4th best race by a team in the history of the game.
I just wanna thank everyone who made this possible, from my current 29 teammates to the people who's not with us anymore. Even if only 10 of us got the achievement this was a collective effort and all of them are champions.
Thanks to the Tigers for making it so exciting and see you all in S90!

Congratulations Cavalli Malati. I am very happy with how this season has gone for you. As some have said, there are 2 titles for the entire Malati family, but really you 10 are the true champions and deserve recognition. Being in Cuccioli I would like that we can repeat your feat one day.

Oops, what have we done now? :)
The thought that we might be in the title fight first occurred to me after R5 when we were just 2 points behind, but it was clear that we had been helped by the generally hot weather up until then, so I dismissed it. But with Tiger, Jaguar and Cobra in the other half of the knock-out table, I told the team we had a good chance to reach the cup final, so we should be prepared for R15-16-17 should the opportunity present itself.
Since we've been trailing all season long, thinking of the title was never really a thing, until in R15 we suddenly went from about 18 points behind to 1 point in front. The rest is history. :)
Thank you Tigers for the close battle, but most of all thank you to all the Malati members, beginning with Andrew Wilden who got me started, Nigel and Hadi who decided to to get our team server, Brad who took our planner a few levels beyond where it was, George who taught so many of our recruits a lot of tricks, and all the others who make up our great little community. 33 seasons since I joined, the work is complete. Phew.

On a more serious note. congrats to Cavalli Malati for really delivering a strong season, the last races were just icing on the cake. Looking forward to keep seeing you guys in the top rankings on a regular basis.

Fashionably late, but a huge contracts to Malati. It was only a matter of time before you'd reach the top spot in the team standings. Sooner than expected though, as George's magic 8 ball seems to have mixed up the numbers back in 2018:

We already had a hunch that we'd take a bit of a point nosedive at the end of the season (call it an enforced 0CTober of sorts ;) ), but you've closed that gap even faster than we could have imagined.
Thoroughly deserved trophy and cup, just don't make a habit of it, ok? We're still racing Jags to the 20th ;)

I was chatting with @Bruno Caseiro (E) about this with 4 races to go, 18 points behind n i ask if we can catch up. he goes "it's possible" and then we claw it back in 1 race and my jaw drops.
