I wonder if a simple forum search may be able to provide some answers for you?

Lets see :

Yep forum search is quite useful to common questions.

Sorry, but as much as I hate to say it, this is a FOBY. It's one of those things, I still haven't figured it out 100% but you'll learn as you become more experienced. Good luck in the game. :)

Because I wanted to tell you that there are some things that you shouldn't be spoonfed, but still I hope you do well in the game.

pfffffffffffffffffffffffff

that's not foby...if it was foby why is it so widely available in the forums?

Yes it should be searched for, but heck why not:

Ben, the easiest way to drop all your oa is to go more than 15m in debt. Note that the drop in oa wont occur immediately, but will occur immediately before the start of the next race. If you finish the race less than 15m in debt you may then regain some motivation as a result of the race itself...that's caught a lot of people out in the past.

welcome to the game, and good luck.

there is 1 thing you can bring down easily: motivation

how: you need to go -15mil into neg balance.

how? just buy new car parts every race, you're a rookie, and i guess if you want to lower OA you not going for promotion so you can do that.

A little more patience for a newcomer, please. It was his first posting, so banging with "Search" and "FOBY" without helping is a little harsh.

Best way.. shot him in the leg, he gets depressed and as he unable to use the pedals his rating drops :)

on a more serious note, it been answered... -15m = no motivation = OA drop assuming that your driver has motivation. How much the OA drops depends on how much motivation you got, and it up to you to find out how much movtivation affects the OA.

If you got no motivation, then you got a much more difficult job

Thank you Sion and David, someone who actually feels like helping the new guy instead of feeding him the typical 'FOBY' crap.

He even said, "it suggests it in the newbie guide" so he's obviously paid some attention to finding out instead of running to the forum straight away, this could have easily been answered in post #2.

But instead, 2 people out of 11 posts decided to help out, what's the forum coming too?

Stupid questions deserve stupid answers. This is the wrong way to do it, but it would make the moron who asks the stupid question possibly more likely to search the forums instead of asking the same stupid question a bunch of others have already asked.

Also, don't train him. ;p It also helps (I've learned the hard way) to be slow... Try setting your risks really high a couple of races. FYI, you don't need to be under $15mil, either; just being negative helps (some...), if you're trying to stay just under 85.

I'm going to attempt to be polite in my response, because it probably could do with some of the words that Frank used.

My post was perfectly suitable. It provided the place where he'd find the answers. Btw I'm sure that he'll now know more than if he was merely handed a fish to eat.

So you two might like to cease riding your little horse backwards, ok?

For the 100000th time: if you don't want to help, fine. But if you bother to post, please post something helpfull. Bian's first post wasn't the best, but at least reminded Ben about the forum search.

@Topic:

You have quite a few options if you want to lower you driver's OA by lowering motivation:

1) As stated before, go -$15M. By doing that your driver and staff motivation drop to 0. I wouldn't suggest it though... unless you need it done immediatelly and have a few races left in the season to go back to positive (if you want to promote or not relegate);

2) You can run very high risks and try to smoke. Dropping out of the race usually lowers driver's OA. But you shouldn't do that if your car wear is very low because you may finish the race in a good position and the motivation will probably rise.

3) Try a start crash (maybe tell your inexperienced driver to "force his way to the front");

4) Run 0 risks. You'll probably finish way back in the pack and your driver will lose motivation.

5) Set your fuel to 1l and stop every lap. You'll finish dead last and motivation will drop.

Impossible.

After first stint it is possible to refuel 1 liter all the time, and indeed stop each lap. Once I have stopped every lap from lap 52 to 68. So why it would be impossible?

Impossible.

Why?

I know 1l is not enough for a lap, but he won't retire (at least I've never seen someone retiring because of fuel) so he will stay in pits for the whole race.

IF you can retire for that, put like 5l (enough to do a lap in any track).

I've seen people doing stuff like that before. A guy im my group (can't remmember who) made like 35 stops in a race.

Ben think about it logically.

I mean you have your answers already.

One you could search and find out for yourself.

But without a search, think about your driver, what stats changes so much that the OA will take a big hit?

When you discover this, then ask yourself what could make this change rapidly?

Numerous things really all mentioned here?

If you read the Wiki, FAQ, Newbie Guide you will get a perfect answer. Its roughly just over half way down on the Game rules.

Now I physically cannot give you any more information than that otherwise I would be spoon feeding you.

If your still unsure by all means drop me a PM I will see how I can help you help yourself?

Have an affair with your driver's wife/girlfriend. That'll lower their motivation, which lowers there OA
Then again they may refuse to race for you again.
