Hi Group, quick question. Completed certification a couple of days back, on first go and before 17 races. What is the process to claim the money? Does it happen automatically? How long did it take to see the funds hit the account?

I've already tried (and failed) 5 times, best score of 21/25. Obviously there would be no financial advantage now for me so I don't think I'll bother.
It's not like I need to be certified though. I mean, Winkley isn't either and look where he is today. ;)

Not quite right. You did this season 14 races and last season 16 races. That makes 30 races in total and therefore more than 17 races.

Hi all,
First post. Just to say that this is a fun game that I`ll keep playing at least for some time to come.
About the test. I think it is partly ok but the combination of only being allowed 2 mistakes and all kind of idiotic, irrelevant stinker trick questions is bonkers.
It just comes down to luck. I read the newbie, Faq, wiki and game rules a few times and I do know how to search forums. I was lucky to pass the third time.
One more thing. I know no better that games like this are for a big part foby but I never seen a forum that is so fobynoia as this one. I read up on the forum to check things out so now and then and almost every single thread there are multiple pointers to foby. Please.....

Firstly, congrats on completing that stupid test. Hopefully, from the dumb questions, you can tell it's really only a small refresher and really not all that important. You'll find a lot of great managers who haven't completed the test yet. The cash incentive to new players is nice, but ultimately the entire thing is irrelevant. It could be a bit more serious to help new players out a bit and test their own information collection skills, but at the moment I shouldn't worry too much about failing it. It's pretty crap. :)
And about foby, you'll find a lot of helpful guys all around the forum and especially over at the mentor forum who will be willing to point you to anwers and help you work some more difficult ones out, but the foby protection in this game is really only to avoid giving out formulas and specific data. It's not too bad. Hopefully, as times have changed in this game's aging, people will give you more helpful responses than "find out by yourself," as that's seen as almost rude nowadays, so after you've tried everything you can to figure something out by yourself, there will be guys on here that will point you in a better direction.
That said, there is a lot of useful information that has been discussed openly on this forum if you look hard enough. Don't tell anyone when you find it though ;)
Hopefully this is helpful. Enjoy the game and do ask more questions if you're still unsure about anything :)

Its a shame that newbs cant get help in forums because the topic is part of the test. I found it almost impossible to find the answers for some questions because the faq/wiki are a bit lacking on some specifics and the refusal of forum folk to answer newbie questions.
I didn't engage with the forums to ask questions as people seemed a bit rude and unhelpful on newb questions.

If newbies post questions and the post involves "this is stupid" or "this should not be like this" or equivalent, the veterans tend to get a bit defensive as it's a bit rude to ask for help while slagging off the game, so you can see why those can rack up an equally as aggressive response. But usually if it's just a question, nowadays the forum folk tend to be much more helpful.

I don't really see a reason for a FOBYphobia. Every manager can choose his way - ranging from FOBY to FWS (fed-with-a-spoon).

Welcome Taco (and Gavin). Please don't be afraid to ask questions or otherwise get involved in public conversations. The forum is a fluid entity, changing gradually in outlook and temperament as some players leave and others join. The moderation is nowhere near as heavy-handed as it used to be, and the vast majority of users will do their best to aid new players provided their entreaties are framed politely. In short the forum has never been more open, so feel free to join us in celebrating that :)

I did my test 15 hours before my 17 race and i passed. I want to know when i will recive the money. I need to talk to or ask to someone?

If you take more than 3 attempts to do it you won't receive any money
Otherwise i am sure the money should've been put straight in

Yeah, I passed it on my third try and got the money on the spot. The rules did say if you take more than three times you get nothing.
I think it's useful to have though, it shows when you give advice your aren't a blowhard, you actually get it.
Congrats on passing though!!
