This is Ferrari's track and they will do good here like they did in the pre season. Yes, why not say this again here since it has been said for almost all races thus far, without fail :)

Quali runs in the FP3 have started, so far it's Mercedes / Hamilton leading 0.5s on Ferrari. On a side note, really like how GPRO race and F1 coincide on Barcelona track

Even more so when you consider that Haas arent running the upgraded Ferrari engine

You do realise that whenever there is a F1 GP on the Sunday, then the Friday race will always be at that track? It's not just a one off this weekend..... it's scheduled like that deleiberately every time

Yes It's been that way for as long as I can remember :)

It's a shame we don't do it for the Indy 500 or Le Mans (well we don't have the track for that one). But I think the Indy 500 generally coincides with the Monaco GP.

But they could always stage one on the Tuesday and the other on the Friday :p

😴😴😴
If Mercedes get a 1-2 in Monaco they can get a 1-2 everywhere
|
|
|
They were particularly strong in the twisty technical third sector at Barcelona, so I think Monaco should be a cakewalk for them. Maybe Red Bull can get closer but I don't expect much from Ferrari.
And then Mercedes will probably introduce their PU upgrade at Montreal...
|
|
|
First season that I'm not gonna wake up in the middle of the night to watch a grand prix. I had such high expectations and I don't mind mercedes winning, but seeing no one put up a challenge for them it is disappointing.

I unironically hope Mercedes makes a 1-2 in every single race of this season, if they're to dominate, they should just go full throttle. Maybe FIA will create some regulations to make the sport more competitive like what happened between 2004 and 2005

I take advantage of ESPN using Sky for coverage so I actually legally watch these races now which is cool.
Jokes aside, I thought it was an excellent race. Sure, Mercedes has the advantage but that's not surprising. The real fun is watching 7-18th.

I thought it was good competition between Ferrari and Red Bull. Made it interesting for a while.
Agreed, the fun part was after 7th place. I like that Grojean and Magnesson both scored points. They could be the best of the rest.
I don't expect Stroll to be driving 'daddies' car next season or have a seat in F1.
Magnesson will wipe the floor with Grosjean this season. (Obvious?)
LeClerc will out pace and out score Vettel. Look to Monaco to show that in spades.
Red Bull could be a real threat to Ferrari in the constructors championship, depending on the up-coming races.
It's an interesting season but not that exciting, so far.
I'm still questioning if I should go to Montreal in June.

As long as his Dad owns the car, I'd expect to continue to see him in there. Probably 3-4 years worth until they sell the team.

Nah, Ferrari will continue to handicap LeClerc all season. It's pretty obvious they are going into the race with the idea of holding him back enough to finish behind vettel.

IMO it would be a good shout to go to montreal, that will probably be a pretty close race.

I'm not certain about Vettel vs LeClerc. Ferrari are in a bad way to show up and be relevant. Vettel does not seem to be able to 'dominate' with the same equipment.
I'm a Ferrari supporter and an ex-Vettel cheerleader. Vettel has disappointed in the last few seasons, mostly due to his inability to control his mind space, resulting in sub-par performances. Regardless, LeClerc has the ability to be racing Vettel and I believe that is affecting Vettel's performance, as well. He worries about LeClerc on the track.
It's the pits when all you see is Silver running away in the distance. Sorry, not a Schumacher type of driver, after all. \o/
Go LeClerc!!
|
|
|
Ferrari are a mess at the moment, I thought that they where just sabotaging Leclerc to aid Vettel but I am just wondering now if it's just bad decision making.
In the last race they should of let Leclerc through early, they should of let Vettel through earlier letter on in the race when it was clear that Vettel's Mediums would not of made it and Leclerc was on hards which he should of been able to goto the end on.
Also they probably could of got Vettel off those flat spotted tyres sooner as well, with the likely hood it was going to be a 2 stop race anyway and having 2 sets of Fresh mediums for Vettel

Although that would be fun I would be slightly concerned for Martin Brundle's health if it did as having his head that far up Hamilton's arse cannot be good for him long term....
