@Miko - yes, 7 tech problems, including yourself. My wear was big too, especially engine - 38% for 1 race is quite harsh. I decided not to drive with parts wear more than 60% in race - it's too dangerous.
Also, I chose wrong tyres again :( It seems that mediums could have lasted for 1 stop and I thought they won't be enough.

Seems like he is in with a little amount of fuel so that qualification position might lie a bit. Besides, his car is still at level 1 so I wonder where he put all his money...
Karl: Take it easy this time. Find out what things affect on car parts wear and adjust your strategy. ;)
All: How is it going with your sponsor negotiations? My progress is at 55% currently so I am hoping to get some more income in some time soon. Looks like I have quite a good chance to promote to Amateur and I aim to start next season with at least 25 million on my account.

I have to change my gear-box after next race (quite a lot of money) and then i will begin to earn money I expect 25-30 millions + prize money

Hey, just found this game today.
No real idea what i am doing just yet, although i am refraining from spending money as the guide says.
Did some testing and qualified for tomorrows race...i think i came out 6th in Q2 which put me at P8 overall, which i suppose is ok considering my car is all level one and my driver is ranked 18th in our league.
He will probably crash out in the first race i try though, so my excitement will be short lived.
Anyways, babbling a bit now...feel free to hit me up with any advice :P
Cheers

Hi Chris!
Hope you'll stay with us even if your results would be somewhat bad. We all are new to the game.
The only advice I can tell you on forum - don't spend your money if you don't know what that results in.
Complete a couple of races and try to find what influences the results.
Edit: beware of car parts wear. Change them when it's high enough. Edit2: typo

Also, it seems that you had almost no fuel in tanks on qualy 2 (hence your 6th result :)). Fuel consuption is around 240-260 liters per race.
So, depending on your strategy you should divide that amount by the number of your stints and make a 2nd qualy with it.

Welcome Chris. Good to have new people in our group as there is never too much active players. :)
I'm not sure if I am in a position to give that much advices as I have only 4 races experience so far. Anyway, I can always try to point out something.

Driver's overall doesn't mean that much. You should find out what skills affect on driving speed and what affect on other things.
Not spending all your money immediately is a very wise strategy in my opinion - though if you ask from Karl or Vlad you might get different kind of answer ;) Buying new car parts is expensive and parts wear very fast so you should save some money for that.

He will probably crash out in the first race i try though, so my excitement will be short lived.
To avoid this you might want to adjust your drivers risks to a low level. Make also sure you don't start races with parts that have high wear as in that case you would probably face technical problems.
Take notes. Take a lot of notes. After every race check out race analysis and calculate how much fuel you spent and how fast tyres wear. Basically write down everything that you can from race analysis. That way in next race you can plan a good pit strategy. They are essential in this game.

I don't want to reveal too much information as if someone completes deal with a sponsor then that sponsor cancels all negotiations with other managers. Anyway, the sponsor I am negotiating with is not the same you are dealing with.

I had 70 litres...i knew what length the races ran at before hand, and i have it set to refuel 100 litres at each pit stop, so i will be slower in the second half.
So it was actually intentional ;)
Thanks for all the advice guys.

You are such a diplomat, Mikko :)
Edit: And yes, I can say that spending your cash is very bad idea. I've lost 21kk even before the first race - did full testing and changed all the car parts :)

I did a little testing, but purely to get a feel of how the setup system works...only spent 2k on it in the end, mostly because i noticed the wear % on my parts climbing fairly quickly, and i dont want any problems come my first race.
I gotta admit, the reseting of the rookie leagues, has me quite stumped...seems to make the monetary issue a little bit pointless, but i guess its more a case of giving everybody an equal chance each season.

Chris: I made 4 pit stops in my first race. After that it has been better as I have had exact numbers and calculations from analysis.
Karl is actually finishing the race and getting his first points of the season. And seems like I will be out of the top 4 for the first time. This is going to be an interesting season after all. :)

I felt a bit sorry for Karl getting the technical problem on the last lap.
I was surprised at the amount of technical problems...is that purely when a part is too worn, or can it be random?
