Looking at some of liveries just reminds me some of the good teams there were back than, and some good friends I had. Nostalgia.
Good addition really liked it.

If my memory does not fail;, Hans has that 6 wheeler in his personal livery garage Someone does. Not sure was it Hans or someone else
It was a Yakini manager : /gb/ManagerProfile.asp?IDM=86295
I think livery market is a good idea. I see some wonderful liveries, but many of them has clearly the name of the Team on them. And I wish to change the name of the livery if I take it. Vlad says "at the moment", so I hope in the near future we can do it.

I never should have given my 6-wheeler to another manager :( It was an 'what if ...' project
BTW - I am open for the possibility to have different carshapes with different positions of wheels, with these limits: 1) it should not give any troubles in the new live race screen and 2) a new carshape comes with a standard position of tyres which we can match with a variable. The variable shoudl be easy to apply, e.g. when uploading the livery. This variable is a conditional value which can trigger a different set of layers needed for the live race. E.g. Formula E; the cars should at most only be marginal wider and longer than the current cars and if the front tyres are more or less covered, we need a additional set of layers which deals with wet tyres and animation etc.
We already have a sort of variable for the special carsets, like the Tyrrell P34, which has a special set of layers. But this is far to much work for mass production.

The name of the livery currently shows its origin, and I would like to keep it that way (to cause the nostalgia effect). So I am not really convinced that we should allow renaming of liveries. It won't take long before we need to moderate the livery names as well which is definitely something I don't want to do.

Yes, I can understand your point.

Dont get me wrong, I respect the investment and integrity of the ones that have created the liveries. and I also appreciate the Nostalgia value for sure, however can a single change, a stripe, a star, or some simple symbol added to an existing livery constitute as a new Image? one which would warrant a new tag, of ownership? after all emulation/Imitation can be argued as the greatest form of flattery.

uhm... It' a good idea but... if it's not possible to change the livery name for the nostalgia effect, better creating a Hall af Fame for old Teams' Liveries... There are very nice liveries but I could not wear them with the name of a Team that's not mine.

Came in here this morning, saw the notification for the changelog, then found out it's for this new livery market. For 5 credits less than a personal livery, one could purchase a livery from this market, although renting one at 0.3 credits per race seems a bit more attractive. Then I saw it... the old livery from Acadamite (crafted by the late Leigh Gaskin) on the top row, harking back to better days when GPRO made sense. Had I the coin, I'd surely outright purchase it so as to keep it for myself, but that would be a bit too selfish of me when someone that actually went up through the ranks there like Kyle Morris should get it for himself instead. Heh, there's that nostalgic effect Vlad wants to induce with this :p

I think it is about the name on the actual design, and not the name of the livery. A livery with national colors but also the name of the on it will not de redesigned to a livery with just the colors. It will remain a (old)team livery.

Could the non-GPRO-crew author of some supporter-only liveries obtain some supporter credits when its liveries get rented? Just my two cents worth opinion, ofc...

Why not do the Williams FW08B. It was the last six wheeled car in f1. But it never raced due to a change in the official rules saying you could only have four tires and wheels. Williams thought it would give them more traction in the back of the car for less sliding about. It would be a cool idea. And that tyrell six wheeler belongs to somebody who hasent been on for 6 years. No one can have it appearently.

Please see the upload livery tab. It's written there that you can upload and sell your liveries to the market.

Quote ( Claudio Szynkier @ April 28th 2014,10:54:01 ) i've realized there are some "ghost" teams with designed liveries out there.
people who don't actually play gpro anymore.
i was thinking about the possibility of make these liveries available for supporters; or maybe a new system where supporters can pay a little amount for a special "shared-personal" livery.
comments?
thanks for listening!

just a cheap idea flash through my mind, when I see some very nice livery disappear from the market and wonder it is sold/rent, and to whom. Maybe I can follow his/her race if I know the livery went to which particular manager :)
Can it be a good idea to publish who bought/rent which livery? Thought?

Sorry... Where Can I find the basic liveries to create a National One as I promised in the Italian forum?
And If I create a livery for my country it will be added in the market?

If I buy a livery on the market then I'm forced to use it until I sell it or I can keep it while using some free livery?

Another question on the livery market... If I want to upload a personal livery it costs me credits? if not, I can sell it to make credits or I can use it immediately if accepted?
Sorry but I've not understand how it works, basically because it isn't explained.

It still costs 50 supporter credits for a personal livery, and you can sell it in the market in the future, but you have to follow the guidelines for that.
|
|
|
Yes Marco, thanks but that's said in the Tab Personal Liveries not in the tab Upload liveries... No talks about the 50 credits there...

No. It would be wrong to force you to use it through all eternity :)
You can choose which category livery you wanna use at any given time (free, supporter, national, team, personal)
Even the Champion gets to choose IF (s)he uses the Champion livery :)
The personal category livery remains there even when you use another category livery. Though... if it's a rented one, the rental time may run out regardless if you use it or not.
Situations change, for example some times you might be in a team and wanna use teamlivery, and sometimes go solo and wanna get back to your personal livery.

I'm sure Hans will pick the question up sometime in the next few days and explain further :)
