Evening all,
Great game you have here. Love it so far in Rookie
My issue is, why is it better for players not to play than to play?
Sorry, but that's mental...

Quote ( Alexei Malkin @ July 21st 2017,23:07:04 ) I'm wondering how Force One overtook MatrEshka if MatrEshka has got more points in the last race If a manager decides to reset his account to Rookie and has scored team points for his team, after the last race of the season the team will be stripped of all team points scored by the manager during the season.
Eduard Gindullin requested a rookie reset /gb/ManagerProfile.asp?IDM=233880

How do you come to this conclusion?

I believe the Russians have the wrong number of points by their name on the standings page. Either that or Keeney and I are so good we broke maths.

They do play, but they don't want to race. It's too expensive, so they hoard cash and parts ready for the next season.
The step by step uprgade seems counter intuitive to me, why go so linear forcing people to hang onto that part and not hurt it?

I assume you mean the last race of the season? In rookie, it should only be the case for the promoters, as everyone else gets their account reset. Outside of rookie, it's still questionable as a tactic, and indeed the best managers are able to race all 17 races without having to go to any extreme lengths.

Have you tried the mentor thingy? /gb/forum/ViewTopic.asp?TopicId=20521#scroll

Not just the last race, the last half of the season!
Get points to stay up. then give up all costs until the next.
It just doesn''t sit right with me, every turn should make a difference.
I get it's free to many, but, well, I guess this has been discussed before.
I don't want to pay and join a game where inactivity is progress...

I'm assuming he means smoking out and just not being competitive rather than not actually turning up, I might be wrong though.
Not turning up is always worse than turning up I think.

I'm gonna assume you're not talking about rookie then.

Yes, thanks Sam.
99% parts. Say hi, then carry her back to the pits.
Of course, I'm in Rookie. But i have team data.
At least in WOW you get to slaughter rats for a few XP.
Is this the bext growth solution?

It's extremely rare for this to be the best strategy. As long as you're capable of being competitive, this sort of strategy hinders you massively in the long term. Short term, sure, it's great, but after a few seasons when you have no sponsor money, no test points, and you've quickly burned through your pile of cash, then what?
And also, the fact it's available is a good thing if you ask me. It gives people different options if they are really desperate.
Stuart thinks I'm a twat.

Some play that way, but I don't think it's a strategy that really benefits them in the long run. Cutting costs also cuts income, and playing aggressively is definitely a viable option.
And sure, don't pay until you're sure you want to support the game. Free players get no real disadvantages, paying just gives some conveniences.

Ok, thanks guys,
I'll study and learn.
See you all on track!

In most cases you make more money by racing than smoking and retiring. Maybe in Rookie and Ama it makes some sense sometimes. Above that, smoking and retiring may give more money in short term than racing and testing, but since you can't test when you smoke, it's not a good long term strategy.

Quote ( Jack Wemyss @ July 21st 2017,22:01:03 ) Scirocco were always shit, it got better when Finn left but then Daryl counteracts that. I left because I thought I'd be flooded with messages from people wanting me to join their teams. In fact the only message I've had all season is the one you sent saying you've shagged an old woman and a teenager from work.

I got the same, but only about the old woman.
