I don't know what your are trying to say. You know, the language barrier.

Commercial level gives two positive effects (arguably 3 in the longer term)
If a rookie is promoting, maxing it out gives positives to both (all) of those If a rookie is NOT promoting - then they still gain the benefit of one of them.
Therefore there is indeed no reason NOT to max out commercial before R1 in rookie.......

Ok... Trying to avoid FOBY I could not be more specific. What I was trying to suggest is that there is one benefit of Commercial which however has no effect in Rookie.

You realise people don't forget what works in rookie just because they haven't been there in a while?
My reading of ZPP’s comments here is that he doesn’t disagree with what is optimal, merely what a true rookie (someone who’s never been any higher) would actually do. It’s a debate about what constitutes a real rookie more than one about strategy.
That's exactly it. And the ratio of experienced managers is bigger, some 75% of ex-Amateurs, couple of Pros or even a Master and an average of 1 to 2 newbies between starters, quitters and resistant. The wall of knowledge a newbie faces has to be bigger now. I know, no wiki and no nothing, pain, sweat and tears, and crying. But competition and challenges are different.
And then you ask or complain about something "silly" in the forums and everybody knows what happens. There are even "silly seasons" every season because... rookies ain't have a clue and always want to know. Little sinners.

I just hope I'm getting at least 1% of something in everything that apparently works and I'm paying.
If the levels above get more for the same money and staff level... it's just a bit "weird". For the staff. More work for the same salary in Amateur. Just for the glamour.

Hey, anyone know which driver training increases talent?

Short, concise, factual answer; love it.

play nicely, its the newbie forum!
Talent is the stat that doesn't change, what you get is what you get. But it isnt vital to have high talent in rookie, so dont worry too much :)

Hey guys, just wondering, I'd like to know which driver training increases attributes without decreasing motivation. Of course I've used some of the driver training before but I haven't used it in a while so I just need a refresher.

That would be easy enough to find out, wouldn't it?

There arent that many training sessions out there, why dont you take some races to gather all that info for yourself?
Take the chance and note down all the other attributes that change as well, and after you are done you will have a decent idea of what changes and doesnt!

Everything but fitness

Hey guys, I am curious. Do driver abilities get affected by season changeover? I didn't find it on any of the FAQ and season change FAQ. I do notice that many drivers improve in Rookie from 85OA to 110+ OA in the span of the season from training.
Do they get reset after a season ends, or do they maintain their abilities. Or maybe just a few abilities drop?

Yes. By changing the season, the pilot's skills are changed. Notably, in weight gain and loss of stamina. If staying in Rookie, the maximum allowed OA is 85, keeping all features. If you go above 85, you will lose the pilot. If it promotes, it keeps the pilot with all the characteristics, except those mentioned above.

as others say a few drop (if they have any already)
to compare the stats of a few drivers on the open market after the last race (but before the reset) and then after the reset, you should be able to figure out a lot of the end of season changes directly from that

that is more likely from motivation of the driver increasing during the season, this can be a particular problem in Rookie, when trying to manage your drivers OA if you are staying in rookie for another season, however you will lose all your motivation if you go over -15mil

Thanks, that is useful to know. Being new, it seemed that they must have trained up, but it seems like a few wins might push them very high very fast in Motivation. So knowing that much of it comes from there, I can better get an idea where to do training. (Still sorting out the ways this game works - FOBY).

As others pointed out few things drop and other might gain a little at season reset. Driver OA is one of the easiest things to find out by yourself as there's a large junk of data available to everyone... Matrix inversion and multiplication will do the job ;) (and should that not sound familiar, there's plenty available how that works through your biggest friend: Google :P )
BTW I envy you...All those things you've to find out yourself when you just start this game... There's also plenty of information in the forums, even in old topics; there's something important hidden inside this topic: /gb/forum/ViewTopic.asp?TopicId=15346&Page=1 It's my birthday today for another minute so I can give presents as I desire :P
