I would guess that by the time the admins would consider lifting the ban, so much time would have passed that Finn isn't bothered about coming back anyway. Shame.

Wouldnt a table be more clear for everyone on bans? ie swearing = 3 races midget sex = 8 races upsetting big kev = life ban?
At least it would be clear for everyone.. Finn was a good active member although his Liverpool shite got on my nerves, will be a shame to lose him

Most people are quite clear on how the ban system works.
1st ban = 10 days
2nd ban = 20 days
3rd ban = 30 days
4th ban = "permaban" (can only be lifted by admin intervention and rarely happens until a long time has passed, if ever)
People are rarely issued with a ban outright, although it can happen, but usually you would need 3 official warnings (actual warnings, not just a PM from a mod) to get each ban.

I'm not sure if it's specifically stated there, to be honest. Has been discussed on the forums a few times though. But you know now :)
Takes a lot of official warnings to get banned, especially considering how laid back the mods are these days and warnings not getting thrown about unless they really have to.

EDIT - Just checked and don't see that stated in the rules or Wiki anywhere, but it certainly has been covered in the forums. And now it's been covered again. The ones that don't know are the ones that probably have never received a warning so are unlikely to have encountered such things before lol

There has been permabans removed before, so let Finn back, I did't really see what was so deserving of such punishment tbh.

Fair enough, a lot of peoples behaviour piss people off, (a certain Mr Brosnan comes to mind) but a permaban for pissing people off?
There would be very few people left on the forums if that were the case :)

Everyone has its opinions and is free to share them.
In case of heavy insults (I don't consider words like "s**t" heavy insults) then the ban is absolutely right ; but if it's just for pissing some people off , then it's a little bit too much.

Sometimes I found funny what he said and other times I found it "on the borderline" , but I don't see any reasons for Finn being perma-banned.
Being pissed off for something said in an internet game's forum , is just for children.
There are other things to be worried about , certainly not for this ones.

Yes, as I alluded to in what you quoted. They haven't been removed until after a significant period of time has passed though, and other factors are taken in to consideration before an admin would remove such a ban. I don't like the term "permaban" myself, more long ban of undetermined length. :p

I won't comment on individuals but if anyone has been permabanned (and I'm not saying Finn has or has not) then it would likely be for an accumulation of warnings and not an outright ban; they are uncommon.
So to get such a ban, someone would have already received 11 official warnings (ignoring any number of unofficial mod PMs regarding behaviour), which would have led to three separate bans in the past. They would be more than aware of the situation they are in and would know what a warning would result in.
If you are claiming you don't see something deserving of a warning, then that is your opinion, although you may well not be aware of all the details or what any warning was for, as is the case on many occasions people are warned as users aren't privvy to what has been said in PM previously.
If you are claiming you don't see reason for a permaban, then that's pretty irrelevant as is a different matter altogether - it's disagreeing with how the accumulated warning/ban system works. If you try and find a reason on the forums that a user was permabanned, I doubt you ever would, as the only people that are instantly permabanned tend to be those here for reasons such as advertising and such like, and not normal use of the GPRO forums.

I would say that if anyone has been banned by the GPRO crew it was done rightly so, Finn's been here for ages and has pissed many people off. Bans are bans, don't be a dink and follow the rules, it's not that hard really.
Excluding a particular exGPRO forum mod ;)

No one asked, but here is my take.
Anyone can say almost anything on here; it's the ones who don't stop when asked that get into trouble. I think It would be nearly impossible for a reasonable person to get a forum ban, you'd have to be trying, or be really stupid.

I'm not sure if it weight Rafa's dismission from being a mod because from what I've seen with my own eyes and a good translation (not any kind of google translate), we can say that he badly insulted his mom, asked his Brazilian mates to dislike all of his future posts and actually said there that he was going to do intentional typos, so "idiots would not understand". And I guess there are quite a lot more things that may have happened but have to be kept secret
