I would like to suggest that people would have to pay 0,01€ supporter credits to open a new topic.

This symbolic payment would prevent people to open stupid new topics (yup, just like this one) whenever they have something to say, as easy as writing in chats. The chat rooms are here to chat, forums are here for a different purpose.

So, people with no possibility to get credits are stopped from opening topics? How would that improve anything?

IMO, it would prevent all this "noise" in the forums...

If you want to participate in a game or discussion that took place a few hours ago, you would have to dig several pages until you find it.

That's the whole idea.

If you're not a supporter, you don't open topics. However, you are able to participate. That would prevent people to register in GPRO to use it as a chat room.

Hate this idea. Sorry :(

Reasons Aki and John mentioned are very valid. Plus, the community and forum is what makes GPRO so good - so there is no reason to try and alienate some if its people.

There are a few ideas regarding people opening new topic already out there which are all better than this, if there needs to be any restriction at all more than there already is, which is a matter for discussion as is not a certainty.

Simple solution...just "watchlist" your favorite topics.

Also, there are mods to regulate the forums and a 0.01 fee isn't going to deter too many people anyhow.

terrible idea
forums would be deserted and im sure there would be another open forum created external to the site to counter such a move.

Maybe you're right, I just thought of something to prevent the opening of 10 different topics with the same subject, just because they don't want to bother searching. And that huge number of topics just adds "noise" to the forum, IMO.

I appreciate the idea, but non-supporters should also be able to create topics.
And I fear that if ppl pay the think they have the right to create stupid topics.

I much rather have it the other way round. If you create the 10th topic about the same subject, you pay 0.01 credits which GPRO will use for a good cause, e.g. a GPRO logo on the RedBull Wings for live or something like that
