May be not the worst (and the way he handle his last Gp may have change my opinion, may be one of the best Gp for him) , but (just for me) certainly not one of the best champion.
Certainly not a legend for the F1 .... (one more Mansell, Hill, or J.Villeneuve. And that's all folks ....).
May be he worth a lot. What a shame.
He reach the title for sure, and after don't accept the possible opponents ....
The best car, the best team, 20 years of f.... work, and just give up. I can't understand ... Sorry ...

Agreed, it will go down as one of his signature second place finishes. I can't imagine how hard he had to work to stay behind an ever slowing Hamilton in the lead.

Simply no. Is Rosberg a champion due to a superior car? Probably yes. But Button also won his championship due to a superior Brawn car. Vettel won his titles in a superior Red Bull and Hamilton has won 2 of his titles in a superior Mercedes. When I say a superior car I mean compared to the rest of the field, the car they used is clearly quicker than the rest. F1 is about having the best car and driver combination nowadays. Rosberg isn't a bad driver nor a bad champion and maybe him deciding to retire while on top will discredit him to others because he won't be defending the title. Personally, I think he's probably one of the slower champions but still deserving of the title.

plus I think we should look at the whole field to judge, wasn't 2016 the year with the most champions on the grid (Ham, Vett, Rai, Alon, But).... must have been some champ's fighting rookies much more...

Doesn`t matter who you`re racing against as long as your car is 1 sec/ lap faster than everybody else`s.

Rosberg may not be a great one, but he possesses excellent composure. Kudos to him for the championship. He gave us plenty of show and drama with Lewis, so I don't mind him walking away with this.

When you say Hamilton is much more better then Rosberg and deserves the title much more then Rosberg then he should be ahaed of Rosberg in every race and permanently beating Rosberg what he haven´t done at all :/ that is the reason why Ham is not a champion.
Ham started to take wins very late when it was very hard to get ahaed of Rosberg even though he won last 4 races....He could count with everything and should be prepaired for everything but he was not comparing to Rosberg who (I think) did everything the best he could do...that´s the reason why he won championship and it is truly deserved :D :D

Crashed at Hockenheim nd never raced an F1 CAR again
And Keke won it, Keke was not a bad driver, but if not for th Ferrari drivers misfortune he would not have become a champion the Williams car was outclassed that year, maybe not at Long Beach but there Ferraris was driving an odd double rear wing just to exploit loophole in the rules and the car was poorly suited to city tracks where their Turbo could not get as much advantage as it had on normal tracks.

What makes a great world champion??
It's not been a competitive sport for years, put Hamilton in anything other than the Mercedes and he wouldn't be challenging for the title, luck always plays a part in any sport, this year Hamilton didn't get much, but he's not a great either.
Old sporting adage "you can only beat what's put in front of you." Rosberg did and he's champion dull and no charisma but champion nonetheless.
