She is alive but she got a spinal fracture.
|
|
|
How did she end up in the position where she was flying over the track into a building? What made her lose control?

Noone knows. Its probably something mechanical, people speculate stuck throttle or brake failure

No, the driver who was behind her has given an explanation. The screens at a marshall post showed yellow flags (possibly by mistake) which caused a car ahead to brake early, which Flörsch could not avoid.
“Coming after Mandarin [the preceding right-hand kink], I saw the yellow, but I think it was just a mistake by the organisers’ station.
“Sophia was really close to Jehan, so when Jehan braked early she had no time to react.
“She hit Jehan’s right-rear, and that spun her around straight into Lisboa, and she flew into the other car.
“I just hope she’s OK.”

It's official! Kubica announced as a Williams' race driver in 2019!
|
|
|
So happy for him! What a comeback story.

So only two seats left to be confirmed:
Racing Point Force India: Stroll is just short of being confirmed unless, dad decides he's not worth spending more money on his career.
Toro Rosso that is yet to confirm Brendon Hartley or his replacement with Albon being mentioned as a strong candidate.

Compare today's Ricciardo's overtake over Bottas to Verstappen's one...
|
|
|
Max to me just seems to make a move on inside and expect others to move away otherwise he bumps into them.

Verstappen reminds me a bit like Senna. Brundle said about Senna "Ayrton would put his car in a position where you either move out the way or you have an accident" Verstappen is a bit like that as well. He is brave enough to do that more than anyone else. Him and Ricciardo are by far the best overtakers on the grid
Also Alonso and Ocon leaves and "gained an advantage" and get a 5 sec penalty. Bottas did the same and didn't get a penalty. The FIA sponsored by Mercedes consistant as ever

Im wondering when people will start to choose the second option.

I"ve said before that Max will cause somebody to get badly hurt by his actions..
Next season this could happen IMO.

I didn't see why Alonso got penalised though.

Chasing down P10 with 2 laps left and 2 seconds to make up. Locked up front right run wide, like everyone else did there, got 5 seconds for it. Hartly was 22 seconds behind him...

because he did it 3 laps in a row and went purple in that sector I suspect :-)

Alonso took 3x 5 second penalty (15 seconds total) plus some penalty points. He knew exactly what he was doing - brilliant. I will miss him in F1
