The lap race chart for Indy is crazy colored cool!
I and another racer had 11 position changes between us over 20 laps. I would pass him one last and he would pass me the next lap.
Looking at the race chart I saw multiple drivers who had similar head to head battles over 15 to 30 lap increments. That is what I thought was cool about this race.

It was a great race no doubt, battles were all over the place and not that many cars were smoking. Overlapping was not that bad, it's only the gap between packages more clear.

Quote ( MG van Rensburg @ June 13th 2018,13:38:01 ) At 200 laps, it doesn't take much before TCD starts making more pitstops actually the quicker option.A TCD of merely 0.25 secs now adds up to 50secs over the course of the race for example, coupled with the difference in fuel loads now being much more pronounced between strategies, in cooler races especially, (and likely the higher tiers with their quicker standstill times), things are certainly no longer as cut and dry as they use to be. Not to mention the very real potential gain from running CT's. What use to not be much of a difference in CT choice as well as wobble times, now can really make substantial differences due to the sheer distance being covered during the race.
Agreed and certainly at lower temps it introduces a but more strategy to that race. OK nice one you convinced me which is what I was actually after in the first place :))

For some fun stats, and those that wonder what the race brought us: at least it brought a shitload of new achievements in ;)
1912 achievements in total, i am not sure, but i can imagine that that is a record?
Next to the common achievements that are gained regularly in races, we've seen:
76 rookie blue flag wonder 26 amateur blue flag wonder 12 pro blue flag wonder 1 master blue flag wonder 13 ultimate humiliation 1 recovery expert 5 drama queen 3 lucky smoker 1 mr whiting
Not bad for a few left turns ;)

I loved it, it was the first time I lapped the entire field.
When I got home from work, I walked right into the kitchen and drank the last of the milk in front of my family and slammed my empty glass on the counter and walked out.
Drank!! Should have poured over your head This gave me a good chuckle :)

1 mr whiting I wonder if the real Mr. Whiting (not Charlie) would be proud such an achievement was accomplished during our version of the Indy 500....

What's one extra stop on 10, right? :)
Missed one achievement, and a quirky one: a don't scratch it. Can't believe someone actually managed to win this one on 0CT :D

Quote ( Miel Soeterbroek @ June 13th 2018,18:49:18 ) 1 recovery expert First time it was achieved in the energy era. Interesting fact.
The blue flag wonder achievement is significantly less special at this race now though. Only have to be 0.5% quicker than the guy behind to achieve it (as opposed to 1.5% at your average 65 lap race).

I enjoyed the change to Indy. Not so much that it was fantastic, more that it was different and worked out well with multiple strategies. Thumbs up!
The only thing missing was the double speed play viewing live.
