Oh, GTR2 has 24 hour races, with dynamic day->night effects, and changeable conditions.
Cool, I always dreamed of such things, but my consoles couldn't that until now, and perhaps I have to wait longer...

Grand Prix Legends is still one of the best pure sim games around if you can enjoy 1967 F1 cars. It is free download and you can race online against 20 human players.
Very hard to get into, learning curve turns many away, get through this and it rewards you. Good steering wheel and pedals are a must. GPL first came out in 1998, but with all the mods is bang up to date.

There's loads of Formula 1 mods. There is also a couple of brilliant Prototype mods. V8 Supercars are also very popular.
The best is probably the ALMS 2007 mod, which is the American Le Mans Series and all its cars (LMPs and GTs).
If it helps, there is a Nordschliefe add-on track :) It's interesting driving a whole lap without a front splitter there. A couple of times you'll catch air...

I have Rfactor :) CTDP 2005 is one of the best mods, and there's a 2006 mod coming out soon.
MMG 2007 PE V2 is also a good MOD

Well I have played the F1 mod for rFactor. I prefer the mod, but after playing online, it is obvious that a steering wheel is very handy, and Simon would just win every race...
So I think it would be pointless to do :P

Correct me if Im wrong, but Rfactor needs to be activated for multiplayer to work or the game to even start. It costs about 34,99€
Its well worth every penny :)

I prefer to dl and activate it. I think it was about 2 years ago I bought the game. When I got the game installed it took ~10 mins to activate it and I was ready to go :)
I have had a lots of fun with it since then.
