Quote ( Daniel Mason @ March 10th 2019,16:18:25 ) yet so very few ever wake up from this conditioning and realize they were manipulated from the beginning.
PLEASE tell me this is part of a broader conspiracy!

It doesn't matter to me who posted.
Does the post add anything to the discussion?
If the interaction is, in my opinion, offending I will down-thumb that post and reply in the thread. Unnecessary verbiage not always, there's too much.
BUT 3 posts later, I may up-thumb the same manager for another post... even if the first post is still bugging me :))
What I don't understand is, someone down-thumb a whole thread. wtf?

On a more serious note, when I have to use my phone to get practice or qualification done, and I try to enter my part setup, I have to switch to number keys for every single input field. Is that something that can be resolved by defining these fields as numeric input only?

Although i’d never dare to do qualies on my phone myself, this can be done :)
There are some caveats to getting it to work properly on all devices though. If Vlad’s reading along and memory serves correctly: input type numeric, with a pattern and novalidate attribute set

Just go to your keyboard options and check the option "always show numbers" or something like this. Also, you may download one the numerous applications for keyboards that exist. Last option, but expensive,is to buy anther phone.

This game is and "never" will be optimised for playing on a mobile phone. At best a tablet but even Apple products are a problem.

There is also the option to hold the button pressed and the number will show up. You know, phones are smart only when the users are smart too.

when ppl had problems with there computer we mostly said "the mistake is between the screen and the back of the seat" 😉
oh and by the way you can play this game on your phone or tablet, you just need to use a browser like you do on the computer

I’d like to add that tailoring a form input field to only accepts numeric values if that’s what is supposed to go into said field has absolutely nothing to do with optimizing things for mobile, and everything with optimizing a form with what it’s intended for, regardless of the device or browser used.
Mod Edit: removed reference to deleted post

Flo remove what you wish but I have the original screen shots .

Wow, it's tense in here... I didn't mean to open the can of worms that is mobile optimisation. It's just that I have made input fields strictly numeric in html since before there ever was a smartphone.
I know about long pressing the top row of letters... Try doing that 15 times, while trying to remember the numbers you want to put in 😅
Let me be clear: I'm not asking for a mobile-optimised Gpro.net. I was just wondering if a small adjustment could help fix my main issue on mobile.

One might think that it's this easy: input type="number" pattern="[0-9]*"
type to tell Android to change to number keyboard pattern to tell iBod to use keyboard 0-9
But it might not be... as there are several kinds of browsers on different platforms and they may behave differently :(
One thing there is this: Yes, that can improve things on mobile devices native browsers, but while doing that it may also mess up things on other browsers one might put on a computers (or mobile device).
And also, there's no guarantee it works properly on all versions, some people don't have the latest shiniest device at hand, some might actually use an older one, and this could potentially reek havoc on those who are using alternative browsers. But it should work on default browsers.
Having that said, as the car setup is fairly simple (just 3 numbers without special requirements), it might be worth to try if it works.

This, indeed. If a field is meant for numbers, why not limit it to numbers. And get the numeric keypad gimmick on mobile/tablet popping up as a bonus.

Quote ( Graham Mercer @ March 12th 2019,08:58:27 ) Some examples of why this is a good idea. Agreed... a few managers seem to have a mission in their miserable lives, to be assholes more than 50% of the time spent here.
Perhaps it's attempted humor, but if so, it's failing pretty badly.
Hence, I wouldn't mind having the ability to exclude their posts from my personal view.

Default sorting of Available Sponsors I would like to have a setting in my profile for default sorting of available sponsors. Currently the default sorting is Finances/Descending. The most frequent sorting for me is Avg. progress / Ascending. But I need to do several clicks every time: click on progress, then click on last page, then scroll down. If I had it pre-defined in profile, I would create less server load.:)
|
|
|
The available and unavailable sponsor pages (contrary to team overview, friends list, and even the sponsor overview ) are one of the few ones remaining that have their sorting on the backend, rather than just plain old javascript. I'm sure Vlad has it listed somewhere on his todo list.
When that changes to frontend sorting logic, i wouldn't necessarily need a profile preference option for it. I would however like to see the pagination removed from the available sponsor page. We can handle 70-90 items on a single page i think :D

|
|
Anyone that can code a grabber/scraper can also handle that pagination. That's not an issue at all. On top of that, if you want to make life difficult for the existing grabbers/scrapers, a change in setup (like removing the pagination) will likely break some existing tools ;)
I honestly see no reason why it would be better to paginate a 70/80 items list from a user perspective either. Quite the contrary.
I reckon it was initially done to save some real estate on the page itself. But since the unavailable sponsor list lacks this pagination and not a single user has complained about the usability of that page, the available sponsor page may as well follow suit.

I could not have said it better myself. I'm not as diplomatic Atli if you know what I mean.

Is there anywhere to review how many attempted overtakes one had in the previous race? Or perhaps more importantly how many successful blocks you or other people have had?
After sitting through most of the last race and witnessing an unsuccessful attempt virtually every lap for the entire race, it made me think it would be good to see it recorded.
I know that Hard OT is a thing, but it was getting pretty ridiculous today!

There isn't anywhere you can see a nice statistic, but my understanding is the commentary on the old race viewer is what the game engine is using. So if you count up how many you have on there, you could get an accurate count of attempted and successful overtakes.

Thanks. That took a while but looks like I had 23 attempted overtakes with 1 successful. I had to defend once and lost the place (which I don't care about really, only in the context of the previous stat).
Meanwhile, someone else in the race successfully defended 29 times and was only overtaken twice. This person was clearly slower because when they were overtaken that driver then pulled away. 29 times!

Apparently some people still think there are no real humans behind a avatar (or car in this matter) and still thinks it's ok to talk sh*t about these people or at least makes fun about them and think they are the best....
and only because of this i would like the ignore function in this forum

Guys, you went too far, go back on topic to only make a suggestion or to respond other's suggestions here please.
I suggest to have retired drivers/TDs statistic, who has the most point/race, who has the most championship cup... and to make their previous bosses history available, like which manager owns which staff.
