All - My apologies for delaying so long. I was out of town last week and just missed this one. I will endeavor to be better in the future.

Byrne beats Griffiths!!! And yet...
...Griffiths maintains the top spot, while Riddell earns a big 4-2 victory over Turi-Kováts to overtake Byrne for second! Win AND drop a place? Remarkable.
5th through 8th all draw, meaning they go absolutely nowhere. This includes our first 0-0 draw between Adam and Kai Wen. One set of matches to go, and then players are seeded into groups for the final three sets of matches. Overall record from the nine matches determines seeding for the final matches. And this next submission is the last which you must lock a point in.

Well, there you have it for stage 1..
...it ends with four draws, giving slight advantage to Adam and Kai Wen since theirs was 3-3 rather than 2-2 like the others, but it ultimately doesn't change anything... and we move on to stage 2. There are no more points to lock for the rest of the season. You must simply play with your ten already locked points, and six free ones.
The groups are: Griffiths(1), Turi-Kováts(4), Struder(5), Kai Wen(8) and Riddell(2), Byrne(3), Partridge(6), Adam(7)
You'll now play each person in your group once and results will be added to the current standings. After these three matches, first and second will play for the title. Good luck!

Barring a big defeat...
...Riddell may have just secured himself a spot to play for the title. Kai Wen played to his second 0-0 draw in eight matches, which is remarkable. Unfortunately, he and Adam look to be major long shots to reach the 1st place match.
But other than that, Griffiths(+1), Byrne(0), Turi-Kovats(0), Partridge(0), and Struder(0) are in a very tight battle for second...

The final is set...
...Riddell continued his great form by securing his fifth win in nine matches... the next best secured three. Griffiths did just enough to hang on by 1 single round over Byrne for second place.
With three of the four ending in draws, not a ton happened, but here we are. The final.
Riddell takes on Griffiths for the title. These two finished 1st and 2nd despite facing each other THREE TIMES in the nine matches so far. Griffiths won in Stage 1 Match 1 4-2, while they drew 3-3 in Stage 1 Match 4, and drew again 2-2 in Stage 1 Match 6.
Riddell won five, drew three, and lost one, drawing twice and losing the one time to Griffiths. However, Griffiths won all of his first three matches, but has not won since Stage 1 Match 3!
Somehow, both players look to be at a disadvantage to one another.

Just a thought, what do I do if the final is a draw? My first thought is to take overall record. Second is to replay.
|
|
|
Overall record is best I think. Gives some credit to people for winning this much

After a long road, we have a champion...
... while Kai Wen tops Adam in the seven-eight match. Struder beat Partridge in the five-six match. Turi-Kovats takes a two-point victory over Byrne to secure third.
But finally, and of course, the only match that ends in a draw this week is the championship! Because of Riddell's superior record prior to this match, he takes the title! His road to the final and the title began by sitting in 8th after both stage 1 matches 1 and 2 before skyrocketing to 2nd after the third match. Griffiths held 1st for the entirety of stage 1 and 2nd for stage 2. In the end, its a solid and consistent performance to grab second.

Well done Tim. Great result.
I couldn't have come any closer

Well done Tim...
Thanks for hosting Nate...

I know progress was pretty slow this season, but as far as the actual game, do you think it legitimately has more strategy than 7's or 5's? Also, I welcome any other comments about your thoughts on the format, rules, and/or structure of the game.

|
|
Woohoo, I won!
I think this game is full of strategy. There is the strategy of trying to beat your opponent, but also to try not to give away your locked points for future matches. I would definitely play again if given the opportunity (and not just because I won - I felt like the strategy was great).

Thanks for that feedback, Tim. Unsurprisingly I assume... I'm not going to start up another season immediately, until at least PSCL III finishes up.
E- What about, specifically, the balance of locked and unlocked? Would more or less locked work? Or did I get lucky and probably hit it about right.
