- 1880 SPYKER IS BORN :
The Spyker company is founded by two Dutch brothers, Hendrik Jan and Jacobus Spijker, who are blacksmiths by profession. At first, the ambitious brothers concentrate on building and maintaining carriages in Hilversum, The Netherlands.

- 1898 SPYKER BUILDS FIRST MOTORCAR :
The Spijker brothers built their first Benz-engined motorcar with which they win immediate acclaim for the craftsmanship of its bodywork.

Team Spyker was founded at the end of season eighty-five, by our friend and mentor Quintus Vanghaele. His goal was to create an environment where every manager would get the time to further develop themselves in this beautiful game. And this of course in an environment where mutual respect and conviviality are self-evident. He was convinced that every team member could set much higher goals for themselves within this game, as long as we supported and helped each other.

Unfortunately, our friend was taken from us too soon, and he only saw a glimpse of the progress we are steadily making. But it is something that has shaped us as a team. The norms and values within our small family have remained unchanged since then, everyone is welcome and is free to develop further at his/her pace.

As a team we have been on the road for about ten seasons now, and like any growing team we have had to overcome certain hurdles. Successes have already been achieved, but wrong choices have also been made. We have learned equally from both... And that indicates who we are...
