Quote ( Vladimir Blagojevic @ April 3rd 2019,16:14:06 ) Would now be possible to make go editor? Go editor ?
What do you mean ?
Probably create a championship season for himself :)
Well to be able to access and edir data from go.dat
For example, I lost all driver training type prior this season. I have those in excel and would like to re add it to go database.
Also another example would be Indianapolis race we had this season. I forget to update go and now i don't have practice, qualifying, testing and strategy data. It would be nice to be able to add those values.
It's possible but not recommended due to the file architecture.
But i know that sometimes we have parsing errors and it would be Nice to correct it.

Loved the original as it got my "GO" working again, but sorry, do not understand these things too well - before I download, what is the patch for ?
Sorry, i've not send any precisions !
I've new users of Go who are a little lost !
I post the original version of go installer for them, and renamed my previous patch.
For the ones who get it before, they have nothing to do !
I'm working hard on the new Go version and new installer !

If you are supporter, i can activate the option to parse old race datas, but it was not totally finished, and it requieres full access, on limited you can't have your past setups !
Entering the datas (on hand side) for all laps just for one race appears to be a big challenge to not forgot something or prevent error ! ^^

Sorry Seb, I am completely lost. I uninstalled my original GO and downloaded your 3.2.21 original.exe but I still get the parsing error. Do I need to download the patch and how do I install it?
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

You have to extract the patch to the go installation directory. Or in your download path, and copy and paste the go.exe file to install dir

Thanks Seb, that's where I get lost. How do I find my install dir on windows 10. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Quote ( António Rebelo @ March 29th 2019,16:44:09 ) Have you reverse-engineered the GO code? Did Mikkel gave you the source code?
Since it is written in .NET then you can use tools like .NET Reflector to "decompile" the executable into .NET code. I remember using it several years ago to look into the way that it was storing data and it seemed quite readable (for people who were .NET fluent).
Quote ( António Rebelo @ March 29th 2019,16:44:09 ) If not, how do we know you don't collect user data on some hidden server?
You would need to look at the code that is being run and (as a double check) you would also want to use tools to monitor outbound and inbound internet traffic from your machine while you are using it. You can use tools like Process Explorer and Process Monitor to track what parts of the filesystem are touched when applying the patch and when the code is actually run.
But realistically, most people are going to take him at his word.

I stumbled into this thread by accident without realising that the author of the original GO had given up due to source code loss...
initially I was at a loss what to download or run but then I downloaded and extracted the patch file overwriting any old files and the app works like a charm
thanks a lot Sebastien for making it work again!
