Season 111 is underway, and the top priority is clear: securing the right driver for the road ahead. I’m laying out the strategy behind the search while taking stock of where our car currently stands and what needs attention.

We’ve also got a fresh mix of competitors this season, with several managers promoted into the group and others dropping down. It’s the perfect moment to size up the new landscape and see who we’ll be battling with all year.

A new season, new faces, and a big decision looming — time to get to work.

Normally, all eyes would be on the battle for the group win — and with six managers still in the hunt, that fight is fierce. But the real drama is unfolding much farther down the table. Spots 27 through 35 have turned into a pressure cooker, with eight managers staring down the barrel of demotion… including me. I’m sitting in 28th, and if just three of those bottom‑eight managers sneak a 13th‑place finish or better, I’m gone.

And did I mention it rains for almost the entire race? Ian Wilson in the wet is a known disaster zone. Combine that with top teams coasting, half the grid dealing with technical gremlins, and the whole field slipping around like it’s an ice rink, and you can feel the tension building with every lap.

By the time we reach the final lap, everything — standings, strategy, survival — is hanging by a thread. A finish for the ages.

Up front, we know this isn’t going to be our strongest showing on the track. With only two races left, the real mission is to stockpile cash and gear up for Season 111—our second year in the Amateur ranks. The only real danger comes from the managers behind us in the standings. They’re desperate to avoid demotion, and desperate people tend to get unpredictable. With so much at stake, throwing a race feels risky, but it’s the calculated gamble we have to make.

Here’s a track I’ve actually won at before — one of my three career victories, even if it was back in Rookie. Unfortunately, I made the brilliant decision to dust off that old setup and reuse it here… completely forgetting this race is ten laps longer. With only three races left, the real battles are happening among the leaders, not with me. Still, this one stings. Easily one of the more frustrating finishes of the entire season.
