As I quote: 'On 27 December 2020, Gresini was hospitalised at the Ospedale Maggiore in Bologna after contracting COVID-19. After an apparent initial improvement in his condition, on 18 February 2021 he worsened with a serious lung infection. He died in hospital on 23 February 2021, at the age of 60.'
