Quote ( Mikko Suhonen @ December 18th 2022,18:40:11 ) Hahaha 3-3! Where's my extra oxygen (a Finnish commentator meme)
Currently standings are this without the champ bonus: Navaneeth Krishna 78 Ibrahim Ahktar 77 Jun Ho 75 Jukka Sireni 75 Mark Witney 72 George Togas 71 Sam Tipple 71 Cameron Halsall 62 Alex Martez 62 Alar Erin-uussaar 60 Kaur Sirel 59
If no more goals or ARG 4-3 win, then Navaneeth still wins! 1 goal for FRA will mean Jun wins! Ibrahim needs both to score once more in remaining 3 minutes of injury time.. I need one more point!

Congratulations to @Navaneeth Krishna (A15) for winning the FIFA World Cup forum game 2022! You are the first non-Finnish player in the history of this game to win :D It was close but your lead held even with the final frenzy.
Very well done to @Ibrahim Akhtar (R51) for silver medal and @Jun Ho (P14) for your bronze medal. Big rise from Ibrahim in the end, from 8th to 2nd.
@Gareth Griffiths (P11) you made it to the just-as-lucrative wooden spoon in the end!
Thank you everyone for playing ;)

But yep yep let's still see what would have been the picks of the whole tournament! This was the closest ever FIFA World Cup forum game win fight, but the best possible team to pick would have been:
46 pts MOROCCO (picked by 5 out of 38 players) 22 pts CROATIA (9/38) 20 pts JAPAN (5/38) 18 pts SOUTH KOREA (4/38) 17 pts AUSTRALIA (2/38) 16 pts ENGLAND (15/38) 14 pts PORTUGAL (15/38 12 pts CAMEROON (3/38) OR 12 pts FRANCE (23/38)
which would have netted 165 points.
And the worst possible team:
-15 pts WALES (9/38) -10 pts QATAR (1/38) -9 pts SERBIA (8/38) -4 pts DENMARK (21/38) -4 pts COSTA RICA (2/38) -4 pts BELGIUM (21/38) -3 pts GERMANY (25/38) -2 pts MEXICO (6/38) OR -2 pts CANADA (6/38) OR -2 pts URUGUAY (8/38)
which would have netted -51 points.
Navaneeth's winning team was (like you can see from the first page):
Navaneeth Krishna BELGIUM -4 JAPAN 20 AUSTRALIA 17 BRAZIL 5 ARGENTINA 0 FRANCE 12 UNITED STATES 8 CROATIA 22 Total 80
and Gareth's losing team was:
Gareth Griffiths WALES -15 CANADA -2 BELGIUM -4 GERMANY -3 DENMARK -4 FRANCE 12 ARGENTINA 0 BRAZIL 5 Total -11
This year, unlike in 2018, the extreme ends were at least a bit further from respective maximums/minimums!
Let's see who will prevail next time in 2026....
