Cheers, mate. It was slowing things down a bit for me too, but I couldn't figure out how to filter it. Now it works like a charm.

For me (with Firefox 26) this year's version constantly uses 80-90% of a core, enough to make the mouse jerky now and again. But last year's version used only 10-20% of a core which is barely more than Firefox uses alone
I can't see any other differences, it's not five times more pretteh :(
The version on http://schillmania.com/projects/snowstorm/ uses 100% of a core but I notice it turns itself off when you unfocus the page, which is kinda nice if it has to hog so much

Cheers Shoaib I managed to block it using normal AdBlock. Select block ad on this page, pointed as banner and slide slider two spaces to right, hit next and hey presto.

OK, the banner with the snow is a great idea, but I agree to have the possibility to switch off this because my computer is getting crazy !!!
