Why fix what aren't broken?
"Economy History" should be in the area which relates to my team. And in English it should say "Economic Histroy" Or even "Financial statements"
Can I minimize the huge expanse given to forum...?
"More modern layout" LoL A bit obvious, it's new therefore Modern.

I'm usually one for change, but feel there is too much going on with the new page, added useless pictures, huge forum cut-out, do like the addition of being able to move things around, but would've much preferred to just move the old page around per preference. One of the main reasons I stayed with GPRO over other games was the fact that everything that's needed was on the front page, not hiding, but most importantly, not smashing my eyeballs with a million different things to look at, nice clean subtle lines throughout, now this is not the case. Not saying I'm leaving for anything just giving my opinion.
I will learn to like it. :) Although, yep very FIRST suggestion would be allowing to reduce the forum cutout, to at least half. Followed by being able to remove the useless pictures, ie helmet and such.

I like the new office design. It's sooo cool

|
Great, definitely prefer the new...
Well done!

the new designs nice, its just il take a little time to get used to it.

New design is MUCH better than the old one !!!
|
|
|
comparing the 2, the new design is very modern while the old layout is very spartan
modern will attract younger players although old school players esp the ones w/ older computerss will prefer the spartan one

The new layout breaks GO (Gpro Organiser) and GO cannot interface with the design so if you are a GO user then you will need to stay with the old layout for the present.
Many members use GO so this could be a problem, though I guess GPRO will just say 'that is a problem for GO to deal with'?
|
|
|
Well, you can just get your data from the old layout, and switch back :)

Probably most of the players with the new design.
Sure they will do an amendment to GO...

GPRO is getting better and Better.. Great Work!

Great job guys - looks like 21st century coding now :)
|
|
|
new design is no doubt good....awesome work people :) hats off!
it will have to pass some time to get used to it though....so the intermediate stage of choosing either is the winner for the time being

Things are a bit confusing as of now.... but i think its just a matter of getting used to it... :)

Indeed I hope they continue to allow the opportunity to switch between the two for awhile, at least through the rest of the season.
I think the new format is much better but it will take some time to know where everything is. The old format is great when I need to get somewhere quick. Leaving is so we can switch between the two of them was another good idea.

Chris when u click on show announcements on home page...It gives a pop-up of the current announcement and has a link to go to all announcement... i Think it should also have an option of closing that pop-up. I wont require much coding just a line of code will do it........

To start with, I like the new design. Its prettier than the old layout and will work well when one gets used to where things are. It took some time before I found things in the old layout as well when I started. Some suggestions below aren't really related to new design but might be worth considering when changing it.
- Customizing: Pushing 3 respective 4 boxes up and down doesn't really make a huge difference. * This could be taken much further with allowing to customize the dashboard itself, size, number of boxes of different sizes etc. * It could also be made so you can make custom boxes where you add those links you want in them. Examples of custom boxes could be one where you add links like the current ones, just choose which. Another could be to have a box where I show the economic history graph so I can have a number of graphs on my dashboard to follow my progress through the season. * Drag links around within boxes, for example, the misc box is a good example where I personally would like a different order of links. * A team forum box, this would make my day.. * Group forum box
- Images are pretty but not very useful unless you add something more to them. Visualization can save space, in this case, driver helmet, TD and livery to some extent are just eye candy.
- I'd like to see more of status changes from last race on the front page and this could possibly be done with the images. For example, parts wear on the car image, driver stat changes on the helmet, staff&facilities if degraded, testing points if degraded.
- I've always loved the green on Q1/2 when people qualify. This would be nice to have in testing standings, team overview (if teammate quallied), friend list (same)
- Partly in line with customization, TD box is total waste of space for me in Amateur. Space better used for other things.
- There are many places I would have liked to sort tables by their headers. For example, friend list, sort by q1/q2/qually time/money etc. etc. This goes for most of the site.
- Hover over button next to the topics in latest discussion would show last X posts in a hover window. Window should also have a mark thread as read button in it. I often mark the forums as read when I'm online and when a new post turns up, I could view it without leaving office. When I play now I usually have 5 browser tabs open with different views.
- Hover over friend list and see online friends, hover over team and see what teammates are online etc.
- Asynchronous updates of the various boxes, mainly forum but also perhaps qualifying etc that may show status changes. This rather than having to update the entire browser window every couple of minutes when you're in a thread discussion.

Agree, let it optional and it's ok :)

It is already there, 'Hide Announcements' just below the next race information.

This is great, love the icons for the features. Navigation is easy

Two thumbs up! Are other gpro pages also expected to be given a new look? Cause now suddenly the old design feels... so yesterday! :)

Sorry Chris. The old one looks MUCH better on the eye.

It's to attract new members to the game... I don't like it, but we have to accept that GPRO needs to appeal to more people.
For me, the fonts still look very small and are not nice to look at. Their colour doesn't help either. Not sure exactly what the name of that colour is, but on this blue background, white fonts look the best.
