For the second time in the history of FGen, the title was decided before the season finale, Giuseppe Farina couldn't be caught. But the Italian GP was meant to be a season-saver for lots and lots of drivers. Kurtis Kraft lead the way, both in pre-race lists and in Qualifying, followed by the Gordinis, the Enrico Platés and once again the Ecurie Frances. Other than #13 Parnell and #16 Claes, everyone advanced, both underdogs Trintignant and Davies were drawn into the same Quarterfinal, allowing Freeland and Bettenhausen to beat them. Godia in the other Kurtis fell, as well as de Graffenried in the EcFrance, two of his teammates found their end in the Semi-Finals instead. Simon finally outpaced Manzon, the leader of the Gordinis won his Semi-Final, while Manzon lost to a quick Freeland and an impressive Bettenhausen. The risky chassis selection finally paid off for Kurtis Kraft as Freeland went on to win his first win and Kurtis' first since Yves Giraud-Cabantous. Herrmann finished less than a second behind the winner and comfortably ahead of Simon and Bettenhausen.

Giuseppe Farina becomes Formula Generally's fifth champion, the second Italian after Alberto Ascari. For the third year in a row, an Italian driver won the title. Farina scored 33 points, the most anyone's ever scored in a single season, even though Whitehead's record of three wins in one year remains untouched. Farina's dominance meant the real fight was for second place and after a strong finish, including a second place and two other Semi-Finals, Robert Manzon was the surprising second place finisher. The Frenchman returns to the top 5 after 7 years, including three team changes, one season as a privateer and podiums for three different teams. A relatively quiet Alta season still produced one win and a third place, both by Juan Manuel Fangio, who finishes third for the third time in his career. Then, perhaps the biggest surprise: race win in Great Britain, four other Quarterfinals and a championship fourth place from Paul England, unknown to everyone 12 months ago. Less points for Don Freeland in 1957 but a second consecutive Top 10, the American took down the season finale and gained some great confidence with it.

A win in Switzerland might just be what CSI and Jean Behra wanted, 1958 might just be their first year as proper title challengers. No win for BRM this time around but a well executed consistency plan earned them P7 and P8 for Marimón and Mieres. Vukovich defended his German GP win from last year in his only Final, good for ninth place. In a very cramped top of the midfield de Graffenried beats Mantovani by one point, Whitehead beats Bryan due to countback. Linden in the second CSI finished 14th, his performance was just as important as Behra's. Out of the eight race winners, Eugenio Castellotti was the only one who never made it to the Quarterfinals besides his winning day, earning him 15th place.

Just a podium for Perdisa this year but another year as Lancia's number one driver, Simon on the other hand was seriously beaten by Manzon. Trintignant had two Semi-Finals but failed to advance from that so he finishes just ahead of Hans Herrmann for P18-19, who pretty much saves his season with a second place in Monza. Thompson finishes 20th but Bugatti is on a brink of collapsing. Former champion Bob Gerard finishes 21st, his worst year for Alfa is comparable to his best year in Talbot, even though those years were to forget for the Englishman. A third place each was both Godia's and Rathmann's highlight of the season, von Trips had potential but finished last in both his finals. ERA returned to the podium after 1954, Davies' 25th place might be the first step in the right direction. Fischer had three Quarterfinals to end the season but only 8 points; after Halford's impressive early season he dwindled down to 27th. He still beats Flockhart in the sole Connaught and Collins in the second Lancia.

Bonnier's 4-race-streak was all he got, including a last place in the Aintree final. Maserati are no doubt the team that lost the most momentum, Brooks and Ascari finished 31st and 32nd, bringing the team only three Semi-Finals. Veritas was relatively quiet but at least they are under a proper management. Four point scoring races saved Menditeguy's season from total disaster, Serafini's 35th place is his worst ever. Karl Kling showed potential of possible future Mercedes success, defeating all three Cisitalias and Ecurie Belges in the process. Wharton and Claes at least showed some consistency, Parnell, Carter and Bettenhausen finished the season strong. Taruffi was outclassed by Castellotti and will most likely retire, unlike Troy Ruttman but he will likely have to leave the sinking Bugatti ship. Stuart Lewis-Evans is capable of much more than this 44th place, he'll be excited to start his first full year in 1958. Piotti will hope for a better ERA next year, Hawthorn is leaving Cooper after this subpar year, Brandon, Barth and Hampshire were all way outperformed by their teammates. Moss' 50th place is below everything a former champion should perform, while the Ayulo-Milano combination is at an all-time low, Flaherty probably doesn't even know he's been racing this season, and Roy Salvadori rounds off the 53-driver field with one point from the Vanwall reactivation-testseason.

Ecurie France defend their Constructors' title with a very impressive 64 points and 3 victories. After first and fourth in the last two years, Alta will have to settle with second this time, just one point ahead of BRM. Alfa Romeo narrowly beat Talbot-Lago for fourth, closer to their chasers than to the top three. Gordini finished four points behind Talbot, themselves, along with CSI and Gordini are the financial winners of the year. Enrico Platé rushes up to 9th to close out a mixed but okay season, ahead of Lancia who really only had one huge moment. Maserati finishes 11th with 3 drivers, huge damages are done, the next few days will say how much of a championship contenders they can be next year. Ferrari punch above their weight to finish 12th, Cisitalia also takes a big hit with P13. Bugatti finish a good season in a bad way, question remains who will lead them next year? ERA will enjoy new resources as 15th place is actually good enough for them. Cooper's progress slows down but with Hawthorn leaving, changes might already be in order. Ecurie Belge's P17 is to forget, Porsche does fine for a rookies, ahead of Mercedes who start their long climb towards the top after overtaking two teams: HWM with a very dull 1957 campaign and Vanwall, whose real story continues in 1958.

Ron Flockhart wins the 1957 Étancelin Trophy for Connaught, ahead of Masten Gregory and Veritas. They both had similar seasons with similar rewards, outperforming and out-earning Manny Ayulo in Milano.

The usual questions to everyone:
- Please confirm (keep 1 or 2 seasons, or release) unconfirmed "yellow" drivers
- How many drivers would you like to manage in 1958?
- Please select a
- If you have three drivers, would you like to develop an engine?

About the new engine rules:
Quote ( Bálint Turi-Kováts @ June 18th 2019,15:38:51 )

• ENGINES. They are changing completely.
- What's not changing is that 3-man teams will be asked if they want to develop one. The base is 25 Engine Points and a maximum of 5 EP per race.
- The cost of Development is up to 5 Money.
- You can upgrade your Engine to have more than 25 EPs, for 2 Money / point.
- You can upgrade your Engine to be able to use more than 5 EPs per race, for 3 Money / point.
- There will be two basic engines (Generally), costing 1 and 2 Money.
- As always, the developers of 1957's best engines (if they choose to develop one for 1958) have the opportunity to see other engines before creating their own, but pricing remains private until all engines are published.
- Customers will pay directly to Developers, likely much more than 0.5 / customer!

Looking for these answers IN PM. Deadline is Tuesday 22:00. If you haven't confirmed early AND fail to answer the PM before the deadline, you will lose your team. If you have at least one confirmed driver for 1958, you won't lose your team unless you explicitly say you don't want to play FGen anymore.

Reminders will be sent soon.

If you keep up the fight with them, you will keep out-earning some of them, +8 CP is already much better than Alfa's result.

Milano still have one of the highest xD

As Privateers can only be compared to themselves, 1-man teams will have less to gain and less to lose. That might be worth looking into, although only +1.1 CP, where Milano is yet to pay for everything else, is the right direction.

You should make a rule for deadlines on NC races, cause we’ve been waiting for Monaco NC race for like a week i think. Also maybe an NC race calender might be nice to solve that issue.
