For the first time, I am actually here to vent about a real random in today's race.

Can anyone explain this one please!? I exited the pits and went right back in! Looks like my tyres were probably flat when the pit crew put them on my car.

Stop 3
(Lap 152) The tyres could not do any more laps
Stop 4
(Lap 153) Your car had a puncture 99% 91% No refill

This caused my 12th place finish to end up being a 20th place finish. CHEERS GPRO 'Random gods'!

Jody, are you being real? I mean, if you are certain all of those things you mention are actually relevant for DMs, I won't dispute that. I haven't noticed such thing, tho, and it could be quite misleading for new guys.

This being said, I don't think 3 DMs is anything extraordinary for a 200 laps track and an amateur driver. By the way, Colin, I don't find those risks high at all. If anything, I find them quite small, and back in the day I ran dozens of races at CT +80 in amateur without any perceived negative outcome (high-ish DMs, but reasonable, and not higher than average randoms). Your number of DMs today wasn't as high as you mean them to be, but your risks aren't outrageous either.

Matters to me.
I was excited for my FT and I was having a great race.
It was the only race of the season I was pumped up for and I got smacked right in the face.
Better going for a Super Rookie career.

I really do wish the game would explain a bit more how a new bloody front wing ended up being damaged despite no contact with anyone or any objects... this part of the game could do with a bit more info.

The thing is that everyone here defends those shitty aspects of the game and tries to explain the inexplicable. And then again everyone is so surprised with the steady reduction of the player base.

Since the topic is getting ever so popular, let's post some stats on randoms from the last race to see if randoms are such a big problem:

Total racing managers: 9428
Managers who got hit by a real random technical problem (including puncture): 364 (3.9%)
Managers who got a technical problem due to worn parts: 1816 (19.2%)
Managers who got a technical problem due to too high driver risks: 1265 (13.4%)

Discuss please :)

Vlad any chance of seeing the data from race 1 of this season

Not sure how Vlad classified those, but here is a bit different classification (ignoring start pits and crashes).

Total racing managers: 8139
Punctures: 121
Extra pits: 128 (sick helmets, broken wings, loose wheels etc)
Smokes: 68

That 3.9% figure again. Very useful Jukka.

The punctures are all race-ending ones, or does that figure include punctures that caused an extra pit (that weren't on lap 1)?

Jukka, I know that this is not the suggestion thread but would it not be possible to have all this info re:- randoms and TP as a permanent statistic, it could show total number of each type of event for each group /class/ race /season etc

/gb/Stats.asp

Or you could just keep on posting the info after every race ad infinitum :)

Thanks Jukka didnt expect to get this as it's race 1 which eliminates the majority off the part failures

how often do you see a DNF due to a puncture in F1

and how many races & participants is there in f1?

is there 620 races with ~20,000 participants per week, or is there maybe 1 race with 22 participants per ~two weeks

There are punctures in F1 too, but you just don't see them that often due to the rarity of the races

Who cares about 620 races ~20,000 participants, its about ratio of DNF causing punctures and pitting that I would question.

We see punctures in f1 all the time and nothing to do with rarity of the races!
