What do you think about the possibility of changing tire compound to pitstops?

I'm not saying that the game should follow the rules of real F1, you can't run after the rules, but a chance like this would mix up the cards a bit in qualifying and in the race strategy, allowing different strategies.

Dont you think that most would start on ES tyres then change to an harder compound ?

So basically everybody would be on same strategy.

The overcut might work. Go long on mediums / hard. Since we have refueling pit stop time is directly linked to amount of fuel to be added, so those on XS will have an early stop with long pit. If you're on harder tyre going long, your pit stop will be shorter, so assuming you can keep within a pit stop window when they come out of the pits you'll be quicker as running less fuel, and in front of them, and then build up a pit stop gap before your own pit which will be quicker since putting in less fuel and come out still ahead on a faster compound.

I don't think it would be that bad. Everyone would be on a similar strategy, yes. But right now everyone (out of the people trying to push) is on similar strategy too, as there is usually one or two optimal ones. So it wouldn't really change the fact that people use optimal strategies.

Anyways, I don't like the various compound idea. It doesn't bring anything positive to the game. It's just I don't agree that the negative is as big as people picture it.

Yeah, I think that, if anything, strategies would be a little more varied

It also would make impossible to guess someone strategy by their quali times, which is both good and bad

I would have a very simple suggestion.
I would like to be able to select, among the classifications at the end of the race, in addition to those concerning the group, category, nationality, friends, team, etc., also a ranking regarding the tire supplier.
So, to have a race ranking for each supplier.

I'm sorry for my english.

I like it. i would take it further and limit the number of sets of each compound for the season. I would also suggest only having access to two types per race, chosen at Q1. Must use both tyres for qualifying (either of the two in Q1, and the other in Q2) Start the race on either compound.

for example:
Yokohama (sets available per season)
x-soft - 26
soft - 22
medium - 18
hard - 14
rain - unlimited

Right now we are limited to one compound per race. You must mean expanding instead of limiting.

why would [suggestion] improve anything?

This is a valid question. It's stated in the suggestions forum guidelines manager should be explaining why the change is beneficial to the game:

Quote ( Gordon Ashford @ July 17th 2009,22:14:46 )

4. Try and explain your idea as clearly as you can, explaining why it would improve an area of the game. If possible explain where the current situation is limited and show how your idea could improve that problem

Also, this suggestion falls in the Common Suggestions category that should be consulted before making a suggestion

Quote ( Gordon Ashford @ July 17th 2009,22:14:46 )

1. Take a look at the GPRO Wiki, and specifically the Common Suggestions page (http://wiki.gpro.se/index.php/Common_Suggestions_%26_Ideas) to see if your idea has been suggested in some form before, and then post in the appropriate thread if you wish.

Hello.!!!

In Race setup & Strategy we have this OPTION:
"If a problem occurs, should the driver pit if the problem can be solved?
If "Yes" then enter pits only if more than ?? laps are remaining (0 - 71)"

I Thing the Option will be done 10 times better and more functional,
...if it concerns the next scheduled pit stops and not the end of the Race.!!!

- I don't understand why the solvable problem can't wait a few laps until the next scheduled stop and has to get in immediately.!!!

This Suggestion dramatically changes the evolution of each race.

Also an option on the old race screen where if you log in during the race, it defaults to lap 1 like on the new race screen would be nice.

Ok so this may be an unpopular request. But maybe an extra option in the race strategy menu might come in handy sometimes: retire the car on lap 1.
Maybe you want to save parts for the next race. Maybe it's raining an your driver has as much talent as my uncle has teeth. You can put 0 ct, but it will still cost you.
With the option the retire the car on lap 1, one might do some extra long time planning. Maybe it could even keep it hidden from the other managers, showing a blown tire of driver spinning in the gravel.

Just don't qualify then. Sorted. Yes - there is a downside currently.

But your suggestion would effectively just be an exploit.

I like the idea.
Although I would vote for a box to declare how many laps to run before retiring the car from the race.
The penalty would be extremely unhappy sponsors, and backward negotiations. The more laps that you run at race speed, the less irate your sponsors.

Engine modes. Being able to devide the race laps to as many stints you want, at witch you chooce how much will you push the engine. 100 to do Q laptimes and 0 to run like 2015Honda. Making this have an impact at the wear.

- My Dear Vitaly, try to thing deeper and you will see, it's not me the ...Negative.!!!
...Maybe I am already 63 years old but I have Open Minds to suggest Solutions.

- The Negative RISK in a race Simple will trigger a new mechanism:
...For Example as in Positive RISK we have 2" seconds faster laps with Extra Wears of course ...in the Negative we will have 2" slower Laps with the Half main Wears in -100% risk and analogical to Normal in Zero CTR.
...This maybe will cost less Wears but will cost and Time and if will finish under the 90% Rule of the Race Laps will costed the Half position Money.!!!

...Where is The Negativity Vitaly and it is Positivist to see the Half of the Cars Smoking and Humiliate the Race the Spirit and the Game.??? ...If yes sorry i don't get.!!!

- Good Day from Beautiful SITHONIA/Greece.!!!

GPRO strives to get closer to reality. I think so. For example: The much-criticized random failures.

Do not violate reality.

There is no negative risk.
If you did not take the risk, then 0.
If you take the risk, then > 0 ---> 100 (%).
