And, for the first time since Avonn's premiére, there are more Yokos than Avonns in Pro.

By now it's a 258 x 255 score...

Certainly mixing things up a bit which could mean the weather will massively influence this seasons Pro results.

I most definitely don't Jon! Not so much down to luck but it will ceratinly have a bigger influence than a lower spread of tyres.

If that's the case then i'll choose the opposite of Mr Wright as he always gets it wrong :-)

I still can't figure out the tyre choices made in Elite. One season the same top runners are on Hancocks, the next season it's Michelinis, and now it's Bridgerocks. They always choose the same tyres as each other.

That's not a coincidence.

If they all think the rest of their package is equal to the other contenders, they eliminate tire choice as a variable that could lead to defeat.

That behaviour isn't weird. Actually, that's completely sensible. If you are a late picker and you already know your package is better than average, your best choice is to pick the majority one, because you know you will defeat most people no matter the weather, as opposed to pick another tyre that may jeopardize your chances sometimes. Also, depending on the set of tracks of the calendar, some tyre choice can be better, especially about qualifying characteristics and overtaking difficulty.

Even if you know your package is worse, as long as you won't have problems retaining then there are some good reasons to pick the same tyre (or one with similar characteristics). That's why we should pick blind, it would lead to a more interesting mix of choices aside from being much fairer on those forced to pick early

I'm on the same opinion and I can't think of any single gameplay reason not to have a blind tyre pick.

I hadn't seen that thread. But posts like this one are quite telling:

This idea gets a thumbs up from me...as it did when it was suggested back in seasons 17,18,19...etc

So season 48 and counting. But hey, we got the new tyres and the new motivation change at the end of the season thingies.

I got bored waiting for the race to start, so I made a graph of all the tyre suppliers used in Elite in recent seasons: http://i.imgur.com/XuNHMLQ.png
