Ok, so from the replies so far:
1 manager says it was a start crash 2 say it was a puncture 1 says it might be neither
Somebody here is wrong so clearly I'm not the only person confused by this.
So far the only consensus is that the commentary is false, which I completely agree with, but this doesn't answer whether it was a random puncture or something caused by settings within my control. Can anybody else clarify? :)

Commentary is correct. Looks like a bug in the analysis. I've corrected it for your last race analysis, but I need to dig deeper to correct it in the race engine.

While you're at it, since the time randomly fixable randoms were introduced, I seem to see too many cases where someone starts smoking because they have like 6 parts at 100%, but the Race Analysis says the technical problem was on a part with low wear. I can try digging up examples if you're interested.

Quote ( Joe Manifold @ September 11th 2015,21:19:34 ) If it shows a basic sort of comment for each lap such as "attempted overtake", "defended position", "overtook", "was overtaken" etc, then I don't see why not.
If that is the case, I believe the table they have added for blocked/successful overtakes is enough, no? I surely assess the risks I am using on each race by this information.

Quote ( Stephen Bewers @ May 8th 2020,22:26:13 ) More of a question than a suggestion, but it's related to this topic.
In tonight's race I pitted at the end of lap 1. In the race commentary I got the following comment:
"Stephen Bewers damages his rear wing after a contact with Sami Hamada who seems to be able to continue without any visible damage"
However, in the race analysis the pitstop reason is:
"Your car had a puncture"
Now clearly one of these things is within my control, whilst the other one very much isn't. So my question is which one of these is the truth? For my data analysis I need to know if this was just a case of bad luck, or a good reference point for certain parameters I used in my race setup.
Thanks!
Exactly what I think. I would not rely on commentary as a basis for any race plan/setup.

Hey man, you better think about the long term consequences when you post.
Never know someone might necro it 20 years from now and use it against you..... just ask any politician

What makes you think I'm not already the best version of myself that I can be, etc.? I'm from Essex, I'm a chav, I accept and embrace that. Surely that qualifies?

I'm good mate, no furlough but I work nights so it's been good having the kids off school for all this time. They're 0nly 10, 8, and 7 so it's a bonus to have all this extra time with them, and we're not sending them back until September, stick it to the man! Got to take whatever positives you can from the whole shit storm I suppose.
