Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece, located on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, about 100 km away from Thessaloniki, Greece ‘s second largest city. In greek mythology the mountain was regarded as the “home of the gods”, specifically of the “Twelve Olympians”, the twelve principal gods and godesses of the Classical Greek and Hellenistic worlds and the highest peak was regarded by the ancient Greeks as the "Top of The World" and "the throne of Zeus" the principal God among them.

The scheme of the Twelve Olympians comprises the gods:
Zeus - God of the sky, symbolized by the thunderbolt.
Hera - Wife of Zeus, protector of marriage
Poseidon - God of the sea, horses, and earthquakes
Athena - Goddess of wisdom, war, and crafts
