Do I have to do something after I got some cc points, or are they automatically improving the car? And how can I see how much they did affect my car?

Testing screen is currently unavailable due to the fact it is the end of the season

I think you didn't improve your car, you only buy new level 1 parts. It's quite bad but things could be even worse. I know one Finnish guy who updated his new level 2 car downwards before the first race. He thought it would be one level upwards when he chose the level 1 parts. :)
