Here is Simon Cattells opinion on iRacing 8-| Apologies for naughty language.

I heard one track might require more space than the whole LFS game does...

True, with just basic content it already takes 1 gib of hdd.
Mine takes 4...

But you know, it really worth the space. Both tracks and cars are really well made and detailed.

Wait a sec...

My laptop has 162GB, and 94.5GB would be free.

Hmm, true. I watched the V8 Ford Falcon championship(Masier, Egger, etc.) on YouTube, and the cars looked awesome. I saw the suspension and dampers moving very realistic at Road Atlanta when they took the kerbs at the chicane.

How do you paint them? I'd run with a Renown livery or anime themes if I could.

Jetta, interesting cup in America, I heard.

I'd use my G25, of course.

G27 looks nice and all, but as long as my wheel works, no change.

I upgraded from G25 (brand new) (after 1 years racing on LFS) to G27 (Brand new)

+Plus points of doing this :

+ more buttons on the wheel (interval, view Left/Right, Mic button for Vent, many more ingame options which are assigned to the wheel)
+ Quiet start up comparded to the noise of the G25
+ Smoother turning circle
+ Better Tracking of the wheel to tire
+ LED shifter lights on the wheel are better than the ones in the Iracing game and mean the Star mazda & Skippy shift up better
+ More adjustable pedels to aid in Toe heeling.

there are no minus points from changing from thye G25 to G27

Currently my Road Licience is Class A2.44 Oval Class B2.43 only played for about 3 months and not raced since the F1 came in still working on them and Dallara, also trying to get better with the Truckcar and Nascar

G25 for me as well with the Nixim brake mod to make the brake pedal firmer - still slow though ;-)

There are PSD templates for the cars David and these can be uploaded to http://www.tradingpaints.com/ so other racers can download and see you colours.

Make sure you use the groves on the bottom of the G27 Wheel for your cables as the tightening wheel to desk or anything they will be crushed by this

****if you use the groves this will not happen****

Also make sure to take extra care of your power pack as they are about $30-$45 to replace.

Enjoy Cole.

for a basic setup depending upon operating system you may need to get to Logitech and get the Vista/Win7 Drivers as my Xp was fine with the ones on the disk but others have had to get them from logitech.

USB from wheel to shifter (less than a minute)
Cable from Pedals (from Stock are acceptable for now you wont need to adjust the spacing just yet) to Wheel unit (10 secs)
Cable from Shifter to Wheel unit (10 secs)
Cable from plug AC adapter Wheel unit (20 secs)
Attaching wheel unit (with sequencial) to desk left handed or right handed 5 mins (making sure cables are ok and also keep checking sitting position and position of wheel /shifter pedals)

Installing 5-10 mins if everything ok nps sorted
1 week of sorting out how your wheel reacts to turns and force feedback
10 mins of button config

and that should do it in basic setup and everything works 1st time about 10mins.

Biggest plus point. I use speech activation on TS for LFS as example though.

1 - Yeah, it always has to config or being detected again.
2, 3 - I don't really know, maybe since I haven't felt the difference.
4 - It's a little gadget, I'd say. But it seems useful:)
5 - Don't care, I have no space here anyway, to do such techniques...

The only thing that bugs me: When I join rF or LFS servers, I always have to re-plug the wheel as it loses FFB(calibration). Logitech updates doesn't seem to change that...

Only minus maybe: I have to pay the same price again for the G27...
