Very sorry to hear such terrible news @Fabricio Ramos (M5)

He definitely showed his quality on the Avonns in our group this season. Only this morning I was checking the grid for tonight's race, seeing him qualify ahead of me in 4th and thinking that he will be a serious points threat tonight. I hope he gets them, and I will of course take the black livery for the final race alongside him.

Thoughts are with all of his friends, family both inside GPRO and outside.

oh God... He was a very nice person, had the chance to meet him on those WEC meetings in São Paulo.
Very humble person and helped the Brazilian community in many ways.
He will be missed. Black livery for me.

Quote ( Fabricio Ramos @ April 18th 2023,14:33:30 )

this is a very sad day for our team.

our great friend
@Antonny Katayama (M2) died today of a sudden heart attack.

AKA as Kata, participeded in several meetings; 2011 at Portuga´s house, Bahia State, 2013 and 2014 for WEC´s 6h of São Paulo at Interlagos. He was a very happy guy, always laughing. Have a small place at countryside at Minas Gerais State, and there were some conversations to host our next meeting.

His career here at GPRO was remarkable, reaching Elite 2x, among other achievements such as National Hero.

we are devastated for this loss, and we will race with black livery for quite a while...

What sad news... :'((
My sincere condolences.
RIP, Kata...

I would just like to inform all the GPRO family, that one of the Raging Rabbit´s teammates, Mick Brownhill, has just passed away early this morning after a second strong bout of COVID.

I leave this very sad news for all those other GPRO mates that had the privilege to work with this loveable man.

It was not Mick´s skills in his GPRO career, because there he still had plenty to learn! But it was, yes, what he was, as Mick, the man:

He was the very nicest teammate we have had at the Raging Rabbits, when it came down to good fantastic humour, witty, funny, never a dull moment when Mick was posting…fantastic character, fantastic team spirit! But above all… his loyalty to the team. After all, how often do you have a teammate that worries about making sure that his wife and nurse contact us in his most grave situation that ultimately took his life…that my friends was Mick.

A real honour…a real privilege, to have been one of his teammates!
Mick passed early this morning due to a 2nd Covid attack, after an earlier bout at the end of last year.

At this point, I would like to strongly disapprove of his wife´s chosen time, to relay to Mick (who was also battling with heart problems, diabetics, and a slight mental disorder), that she had been having an affair for several years and was going to leave him…a horrible thing to say…at the wrong time, to a dying old man after so many years of marriage.

The above news of his death and his wife´s admittance was related to us in our Raging Rabbits Whatsup page, by his closest treating nurse. The following is the nurse´s message…

… Good morning. I am a nurse at the hospital treating Mick. Mick asked me to contact you. Mick mentored me when I was a student nurse. His wife told him last night she had been having an affair for several years and she was leaving him. He took it very hard and deteriorated. We put him on a ventilator but he did not regain consciousness and sadly passed away this morning. He was a lovely man who made us laugh to the end. It was a privilege to hold his hand in the end. He spoke highly of the team and wanted to visit when he was better. He is now laughing with angels bless him.

SO LONG. MICK! REST IN PEACE!

It was an honor to have him as a teammate, and to race against him these past two seasons. I am certainly crestfallen.

Will certainly miss the race day chats and his good-natured sense of humor.

RIP to Mick!

Gil de Ferran, a Indy 500 winner and Indycar (CART) champion, died yesterday.
He had a heart attack while racing. He was 56, too young.
A Brazilian legend. RIP champ.

Gil was a great driver and an amazing human being. It just sucks. RIP, legend.

We started the year off losing Ken Block and ended it losing Gil de Ferran... I wish both of them were still with us.
