I know I'm bumping somewhat of an old thread, but I just signed up for Neil's league (after thinking about starting my own). Only 3 out of a potential 12 spots are filled right now. It's only a bit less than 2 weeks away from the draft for anyone who may be interested.

Alright Neil, I'm in. Glad you sought me out yourself as I had almost no idea about this ^__^
Oh, and just so you know, your draft time is sorta wrong. 6pm CET is 10am here, but on the site it reads 10pm ET, which is 4am CET. Might wanna get that fixed asap :)

Isn't an automatic draft?

It says "live draft", but I'm not sure what that means. I would think we would want to do an "online draft" (though I'm not sure what CBS's options are as I've never played on that site before). To me, live draft carries the meaning of having to show up at a pre-designated meeting point to do the draft face-to-face.
Also, please no automatic draft. I'd rather pick my own players than have to go by some pre-specified list.

Its a live draft online at the designated time. It runs efficiently, Ive done a fair few.
Even if you cannot be online for it a draft robot will select players for you, so its not the end of the world

Does anyone, aside from me, think August 14th is a couple weeks early. If that date is set-in-stone, that's okay with me. Sometimes, however, injuries occur in the preseason.
The 2nd week of preseason ends August 13th.
The 3rd week of preseason ends August 26th.
The final week of preseason games ends August 30th.
Regular season begins September 4th.

I actually did a draft two weeks ago. Plus anyway, nobody who would likely make much of a fantasy impact tries in the preseason (except maybe the first quarter of game 3).

Yeah if one of your players gets injured after the draft thats just football im afraid.
players get injured in training, games, hell they get injured in the cafeteria sometimes!
In my commissioner league I run, we are drafting on the 8th Aug, and that one is a serious league, so it really makes no diff when you draft, injuries are part n parcel of football.
Looking forward to the online draft room chat n banter ~draft time on the 14th :)

And for those who are less familiar, a player who gets "injured" in the preseason is not necessarily injured. Especially if the injury is to the groin or hamstring.
