Hi everyone

Just wanted to let you know that I've decided to quit playing gpro, last Friday's race was my last one.

Why?
Well, it's all about motivation. The latest 2 or 3 seasons I've felt that it gets less and less fun to spend the time between each race to go through the whole process to finish last race and setup for the next one. Strange really that the motivation fades when one is so close to what has been the target for so long time, the Elite championship challenge. But I guess the building of the driver and package was for me the most interesting part after all.

Instead I want to put in more time and energy into thinking more about what to become when I grow up :), and also to spend more time on other hobbies.

I want to say thank you all for making my time in the game so fun and interesting along the way.
I'm not the most social or chatting guy here, but nevertheless I've enjoyed very much to interact with quite a few of you over these 4 years.

This is truly a very special, complex and interesting game, and a very nice community.

Take care. Enjoy!
/Klas

I had similar feelings as well during the past season, pushing for a championship is totally a different thing compared to the tricky planning game you've played for years, you feel that things are not completely under your control and you see all what you've built run away.

It's always sad to lose strong managers, hope you change your mind but however good luck for your RL projects.

Hey Klas,

Sad to hear that such a strong manager and example for myself is leaving.

Thanks for all the chats, info and your determination to stick to a plan.

I wish you the very best in your RL.

Sad to see you go Klas, it was interesting to watch your rise. But indeed, Elite can be emotionally draining. All the best and see you around some time in the future - after all, you can also simply enjoy the game on lower levels. :)

Probably nobody cares, but here it comes anyway:
I will be retiring from GPRO at the end of the season.

To the wonderful GPRO community,

you have made my last 10.5 years amazing, challenging, and definitely rewarding.
I have met so many amazing people in this game, tried ignoring more than a few as well, but had an absolute blast with everyone around here.
I would like to thank well over a hundred people for all the interactions I've had throughout the years, but instead of spamming this thread, I'll do my best to send a PM to as many of you as I can before I leave.

Much love,
Marty

Jokes aside, good luck with your aspirations outside of GPRO, we'll always welcome you back once you realize that leaving was a mistake. :)
