See even newbies have something to offer. Welcome to both, Grant & 'Jade' ;) to one of the best games on the web.

If you need some advice just send me a P.M. I'm not Elite but I've been here 9 years and it wasn't wasted time.

If you promote from rookie to amateur with the final standing result of 4th position, you will get 3mil Final Standings Bonus (Game Rule 5.4).

name Is Dave or David
so far so good i did my qualifying runs and in my first race and already i realized i made a few mistakes lol
but what the heck first race and all see what happens i did qualify for 11th spot so middle of the pack i assume
I do have a question is it better to get upgrade?
i read the benefits of the upgrade but im not sure how long i will play as i do realize this it a long term game and not sure i want to commit to that
thanks everyone

Pay a look into the newbie guide and wiki. There you'll find upgrading parts without almost wearing them fully is advised against.

Oh, I see :). You have a trial supporter deal that lasts 10 races IIRC, after that you can buy supporter credits if you choose to. It will not bring competitive advantages, only some comfort-related features, such as saving and storing race analysis, being able to use liveries in the supporter section, etc.

To know what is in the deal, check /GPROSupporter.asp

Being new, it'll be hard for you to promote this season. Mind you it's still doable, but than you would be sort of lucky ... If you take this route, do not spend money unless your arm is twisted!

But let's pretend you don't. Well in that case you may opt to spend as you please. In order to try and get a grip on the game, it's not a bad strategy. Most of all take notes and analyse your results (this is towards the long-term-game idea). The thing is that when you do not promote, your progress gathered this season will be reset. Meaning you'll have 30M$ again, and your car will be lvl 1 on all parts again ... All "mistakes" made this season, will be gone also, you'll start with a clean slate ...

You could also apply with a team who would be able to get you more info in order to get you up to speed.

Hi Guys.

Introduced to the game through an unrelated football forum. Lifetime F1 fan who decided to give this a go.

Midway through my first full season. Enjoying playing with strategies and have been delighted to pick up a couple of 2nd places while scoring consistently. (Would have been even better if I hadn't tried to qualify for two races on the wrong tyre......)

Hoping for promotion first time out, in 4th place in my division so far.

Really enjoying this. All the best guys.

Going for promotion so soon is risky business, so don't feel bad if you have to spend your first couple seasons in Rookie to learn the ropes. Good luck, Col, I might start watching how your season progresses if you keep performing so well!!

Welcome, I ended up promoting in my first season, been in AMA ever since, but now getting the hang of it.

In hindsight should of stayed in rookie, and learnt more

Enjoy

Thanks for the kind words guys. I hear you on the warnings on going up too soon, but i'm just doing what feels 'right' at the moment. Will see where it takes me.

Greetings all!

Decided to have another crack at this. (I did a couple of races a few years ago.)

Hoping to get to grip with this and be successful......and have fun!

Gotta find a we to get and record data, though. Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Thanks.

Greetings all, had a few races now and loving the game. Looking forward to my first full season, managed to get to -30M so I get to keep my driver who's not bad except he has 0 stamina (not sure how important that is but I guess i'll have to train him up). He's got 193 concentration though

yes, it is important not to have 0 stamina if you want to do well in race.
