I'm also a member of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society who have drinking rooms in the Centre of Edinburgh and down in Leith, for those of you looking to sample something a little stronger than the local lager.

Doh they already got drunk from Latvian lager imagine if they start with whiskey :-D

I toured the Jamesons Whiskey factory in Dublin with a proud Glaswegian in our party. He was almost incandescent with rage over the put-downs the guide was sending in the direction of his native tipple.

I plan to go next year, so just hoping it won't be too far from the UK.

I wouldn't disagree with Edinburgh :)
Warsaw sounds pretty good too!

Okay, now that the 2011 GPRO Meeting is unfortunately ended, it is time to suggest places for the 2012 GPRO Meeting.

The current choices are:

Tallinn, Estonia
Warsaw, Poland
Stockholm, Sweden

The Swedish meeting is most likely at the moment due to a couple of people willing to organise an event. But if you would like to suggest your hometown, tell us why, and give us your organising skills, by showing us the plan IF we go to your town.

Thanks. XD

Well what can I say, Tallinn would be most suitable for me. Then Stockholm and then Warsaw. In Tallinn I bet Estonians could organise it pretty well despite not everybody are living there, but just due to the fact in here its all so close by.

Stockholm would be quite attractive due to getting there will require a night on a cruise ship, which is awesome! :D

Warsaw = 1000 km from here, but thats nothing much to take by a car id have to say :)

You have that possibility in all of those 3 mentioned by Jun :) unless they have changed anything in Stockholm?

Cons:

• Much of this is dependent on when you choose to come. It can be very difficult to get accommodation in the Edinburgh International Festival times if you do not book early (festival is 4 weeks starting the first Sunday in August, I recommend booking a minimum of 4 months in advance)
• If you’re not with someone who is familiar with the city and combine that with not planning ahead, it can be quite expensive to drink and eat out. A pint of beer, for instance, costs anywhere from £1.50 to £5, even in bars on the same streets.

Mark you forgot that the main con with Edinburgh is ugly chicks :D just my personal opinion.

And what would be better to describe Swedish chicks in comparison of British ones than this video:

PS: Estonian girls are better, I bet Erik can back me up here ;)

The most common non-British nationalities are probably Australian, Spanish and Polish and women from all three have a reputation of being either hot or filthy =P.
