Any particular part of London so I know which airport would be closest?

No particular part of London until further confirmation from admins that it is actually in London :) All airports have easy access to Central anyway (Obviously London City Airport is the easiest as it's in Central anyway, Heathrow has underground and Heathrow Express, Gatwick has Thameslink train direct to Central, Stansted and Luton are a little bit further away, but I can pick people up if necessary :D)

@Stefan Voggenreither (R4) These 4 options then?

Ah, I nearly forgot that on the weekend July 22nd-24th I have to drive a karting race. So the other dates (July 1st-3rd, July 8th-10th and July 29th-31st) are fine with me.

But having this in mind

Quote ( Jun Ho @ January 31st 2022,22:19:36 )

I cannot do this date as I will be in Italy :P

it reduces the choices to the first and the last weekend in July, right?

If you have this in mind

Quote ( James Hitchen @ December 8th 2021,00:12:25 )

Its a week after i finish, although I'll be running an entry in the 24 hours of silverstone the week before so might be crying about a written off car. At the minute I'm free then and could work well, should be able to travel out of the north too with not having to be anywhere the monday after

then obviously no :-) He was talking about an event in May and it seems not to be an karting event ;-)

Yes, I would say so.

Yes, come come!

Is it the Rotterdam to Felixstowe ferry? I live less than an hour from there so could offer a lift if you do indeed come :D

24hr of Le Mans in Karts as Jun said on the July weekend. If that’s indeed the event you’re doing, you’ll have to let me know which team you’re in. we might be nicer to you ;)

But it isn't this time :-) There is an indoor e-karting team championship and one of the races is on 23rd of July.

Is the nearest airport in Doncaster? Or Manchester would also work?

Manchester is very far away from Sheffield compared to most other places with major airports. Bets bet is probably Birmingham
Very far away might be the wrong wording, but Birmingham is closer (at least i think it is, better train routes anyway)

Manchester is the bigger airport, but Doncaster is obviously the closer one. Birmingham is also a shout, although a bit further than Manchester. Both will have easy access via trains to Sheffield anyway :)

I am driving from Manchester side of the country to Sheffield Vitaly - so if you were in Manchester around Friday lunchtime or so I could drive you across to Sheffield (and back on Sunday evening) :)

But yeah both Birmingham and Manchester have train access; Doncaster is definitely closest if you can find a flight there though. Leeds Bradford Airport (that's 1 airport btw!) is also not too far away.

Thanks Jon! I have booked a flight from Valencia to Manchester but unfortunately the arrival time is 20:50 on Friday. I checked and there are buses from the airport to Shefield. So I will start drinking in the plane in order to be at the same conditions as you when I meet you in Shefield at night :)

Nice :) We had a spare spot in the house as unfortunately James may not be able to make that date. However, Stephan took the spot instead but if you just get a hotel room near the city centre, we can just meet you there every morning and night instead :)

I would recommend train rather than bus mate - although bus will be cheaper ofc.

I was serious, otherwise I wouldn't post. It would be the first time, so I will need information about your claims, so that I can choose the location wisely.
