I am really looking forward how are you going to make overtaking players one lap behind because till now there were no slower laps while overtaking and when we will have a graphics then I cant really imagine how this can be done without any slowing down :/

Nice.
But I think that in image 2 the liveries are a bit small, can't see some livery details.

Absolutely not - have you checked out the 2nd image preview? It uses the liveries.

when lapping slower cars will the live screen show the back markers ahead of the lead car
if this is the case then will it slow down the lead car until the lead has passed the train of back markers

Currently there is no interaction between cars on different laps. When you are zoomed to a car, it and all cars within 0,4 laps are on prime lane and others are on another. On prime lane there are working overtakes, on another there aren't (and it would need quite big changes to make cars on different laps to overtake properly).

You can make them as big as in the current viewer, but then they overlap and fill almost the whole track.

Great to finally see a new race screen well into development!
This will greatly improve the game, and give watching the live race so much more enjoyment!
I can't remember the last time I bothered to watch a live race, or even the replay. But when this feature comes out, I'll be much more likely to watch them!
I feel it will help get new players to stick around for longer, as they will have an actual race to watch, and won't get bored after there first race and leave.
Thank you GPRO crew for finally bringing something new and fresh to the face of GPRO, I'm excited and can't wait to see this in action!

I hope this will be an improvement. I assume they will move once at the start of each lap.
Shame they won't move in real time but I'm sure the servers wouldn't cope with that for a few hundred groups!

They will move on real time.

Although servers would need to be tested for sure.

Really? Holy mother of a flying dodo! That will be a huge improvement...... though cue 1,000,000 extra moans from people being blocked!
They will be watching live for 2 hours rather than once every minute for 2 hours...... this could get funny :D

Can't wait

Doubtful that it would be implemented during season. Developing things tend to take time.

Also, it's done by human beings :),
people might have also other things on their plate, so they might not get to advance things as quickly as they would like :)

Movement in continuous flow...

Quote ( Matt Kasar @ May 9th 2016,22:11:40 )

I'd imagine the first runs to be race replay to avoid massive loads :)

To alleviate server load there might be some supporter connection, for example only as replay for non-supporters and live race only for supporters

or who knows, maybe the whole deal comes as supporter feature

That might serve as additional incentive to get supporter... That is something which remains to be seen

I can see your point that it might make more willing to pay for supporter. But how would this full flow race compare to the older model, if players are watching at the same time but at different parts of the race, that could be total madness in the chat :D
