Is there a known issue about race commentary not matching the live race? Wasn't fun being in first up to pit entrance on 1st lap only to find out that my front wing was apparently missing due to being taken out by somebody apparently earlier in the lap.

The first lap comments are not shown. Maybe one day, though there is no good spot currently to show the comment.

What I mean is that when looking at the commentary per the old race screen, the live race screen didn't really play out accordingly at all, which I just found a little odd/confusing, pitting from a comfortable first place when front wing had apparently been taken off in the 1st corner or something according to old race screen commentary.

Just a suggestion - can we have some nomination and informal award for overtake of the season? Sometimes the live race script produces some really eye catching moves that would be awesome in a real race.

Right now I've seen a recreation of Hakkinen on Schumacher at Spa (with a slow lapped dude in the middle), only at Zolder... it got me wondering what other cool moves randomly occur :)

Yeah, it is a bit weird that you don't seem to lose any pace, but then you head to the pits. But I'm not sure if there is a quick fix for it.

Sorry for not posting this earlier:

Mexico City Circuit:
GPRO IMage and Distance corresponds to the 1986-2001 track Layout with 4.42 Kms per lap and the full Peraltada Curve.

The image in the Live Race screen is the current F1 layout (2015- ) that has the new Stadium zone and the Peraltada has been cut. Lap distance is now 4.304 Kms.

Yeah, Hans drew most of the tracks with their current layout. For anything game play related, the track data is to be believed, and most likely won't change (at least not until the new race engine).

If you look at Paul Ricard, you see that the track data doesn't match even the picture in track data page.

Kindly remove the google adsense advertise.
Most of the time the cars are hidden back this advertisement
I know that you want to do money with google adsense but this is not the way. I have reported several times to google with option "advertisement hides the content"
For example in this race, Zandvoort, the cars are hidden the advertisement at the start line.
Thanks

They can perfeclly live without this advertisement.
Also this companies have rules that you need to follow in order to keep your advertisements in your page. One is that the advertisement CANNOT hide the content and makes the user clicks on it for error. Here we can click in the adv trying to click on a car if we want to compare against him, so they receive money for our mistake (which is a mistake caused by them)
It is not fair.

It's an easy fix.

Here's a few ways...

- The traditional viewer
- Become supporter
- Just don't care

Here we can click in the adv trying to click on a car if we want to compare against him,

You don't have to ever click a car.

Click the manager name on the list (i.e gaps) to compare.

If you would use the "help" button which is in the viewer (left middle) you would know this :)
(You've known this help button for ~2 weeks now (this thread post #2680)

it quite clearly says:
• click on any manager name to highlight them in the tables and on the track,

Don't you think that the advertisement covering something instead of being next to it is actually an issue? The original (William's) suggestion wasn't asking for no ads at all, he just wanted to see the full race screen. Just like in the office pages the ad is in a separate banner instead of covering information.

For sure it's not optimal and hopefully at some point it will change. (I do recollect a discussion about it earlier)

The thing is... (for example) in the traditional viewer all tracks were identical, where as in this shiny new one they differ. So the adds may have to be placed individually.

I'd think many can agree that first priority is to actually make the tracks and sort out potential bugs & issues of the viewer.

If I had to choose, I'd rather even have a smaller race viewer (and ad below it) than something covered. A vertical banner on the side is also an option, since most screens nowadays are wide and the sides are quite useless anyways.

I definitely agree this is a higher priority than ad placement on the track.

hey, 1 advertisement don't make the difference
They can keep ALL the advertisement in the page as they are, but they can remove the one in the race viewr or put another one in some place that don't hide the content.
They can put it at the left, right, but NOT in the center HIDDING the content.
Hidding the content they are breaking the rules and the company can make that gpro.net does not show ANY advertisement at ANY part of ANY page
It is easy to understand.

I used to think that is was only possible to have 1 overtaking attempt on the same blocker per lap, but yesterday I saw someone have two attempts on the same guy in the same lap. One in Turn 1 which failed, and a successful one half a lap later. Both attempts appeared in the comments so it was not just race screen trickery.

Is it possible that the attempt in turn 1 actually 'belonged' in the previous lap, but the viewer hadn't found a chance to show it in that lap so it was postponed until turn 1 in the next lap?

This is something which was changed in the shiny viewer a while back.

One in Turn 1 which failed,

in the earlier version you would've known that there is no point in watching the rest of the lap, since the attempt failed. In the current version there may or may not come another attempt.

Thanks. So as far as the race engine is concerned there was only one attempt (a successful one), but the viewer inserted a failed one first, just to make viewing more fun. Correct?
