WELCOME TO THE MENTOR FORUM SIGN UP THREAD

PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD FOR ENGLISH SPEAKING SIGN UPS ONLY

💥 OTHER LANGUAGE MENTOR THREADS 💥

You can find the list of the Foreign Language Mentor Forum topics here. If you cannot find your language there, then post at this topic.

💥 MENTOR CHAT THREAD

For general mentoring chat and discussion, you can post here

💥 NEW PLAYERS

The post below that will hold a list of all the new players that want a mentor. I ask all players that want a mentor to now post the following details:

* Post asking for a mentor.
* Languages used:- if it is not English then please apply on one of the other language mentor threads above.

💥 HOW TO CHOOSE A NEW PLAYER:

Its very simple, if you are available and a new player signs up to the scheme, just post in this thread that you will mentor them and send them a pm.

💥 MENTOR GUIDELINES

The existing guidelines have been revised by Mike Bennett 25/10/2018 and approved by Vlad :-

* No foby, please post links directing managers to the relevant rule or section in the guides that address the question, adding any clarification if needed.

* If you aren't sure of an answer to a question, then please take the time to find out the answer either by researching or asking myself Mike :- /gb/NewMail.asp?IDM=831841

* The scheme is designed to help new managers through the early stages and any manager who is struggling to grasp the basics including returning managers who have forgotten the basics. So please direct them to the rules and guides for any questions that they ask to substantiate your answers. Also remember that this game has a very steep learning curve.
Use your experience to guide struggling managers through the over complicated layout of the home page and the procedure to prepare for a race.
Let the mentee ask the questions rather that you reeling off everything that you now about the game as this will only overwhelm them. Tackle the key areas and keep a track of their progress during the mentor period, if they appear to be making fundamental mistakes then a polite pm inquiring if they are getting on okay or do they need some advice.

* Remember if you are manager who is in a team or has joined a team one the program then it is expected that they advise their mentor and it is then the new teams responsibility to take over mentoring for you.

* Remember mentoring is fun and a great way to meet new managers :)

💥 MENTORS SHOULD START THE MESSAGING

New managers who have not started their first race yet cannot send new messages, but now message replies have been enabled. That means that mentors can communicate with them normally if they start the messaging, so be sure to PM the newbie and start communication.

Thanks Flo 👍

Just to say hi to everyone and a big thank you to Max Lewis for his time in hosting the Mentor Program here :)

Welcome to the Game and to the Mentor program

While you are on the waiting list for a manager to accept you, which should not take long, you could fill your time with some light reading and in particular the following topics :-

GPRO Help
/gb/Help.asp

Newbie Guide
/gb/GPRONoobGuide.asp#the-gpro-newbie-guide

Wiki
https://wiki.gpro.net/index.php?title=Main_Page

FAQ
/gb/GPROFAQ.asp#q-i-want-to-renew-my-drivers-contract-how-do-i-do-it

Game Rules
/gb/GPRORules.asp#1-overview

It would be a good idea to familiarise your self with these topics ( do not worry so much with the last one, Rules ) as they will be referred to quite often.

Good Racing 😊
