I think that we should add another skill to drivers and that is Blocking Skills.
It will really be helpful to managers in the manner that they ( especially the new managers ) may not be sure how good their driver is at blocking people up.

If there is no space for introducing an additional skill, then we can scrap Charisma ( and change that with the driver picture to woo sponsors ) as this skill has no other use that I can see.

Blocking is already covered with the current skills.

And changing that would require a new game engine, which is silly, and simplify things, which isn't a good thing.

I do not want to block anyone, but if I did I would use the race set up screen.

but that might lead to DMs. atleast for rookie managers :p

Charisma

Considering it's a game about money management, this stat and it's effect on sponsor and negotiation is very important.

Then we'd be looking for female drivers only...

And that's whole point of having Aggression isn't it..covers blocking, overtaking and CT in one?

we can set blocking risk level. And why blocking skill? why not overtaking skill, that would be more relevant to a racing driver imo.

Can you explain why we need blocking skill, when we have it in huge amount in races? And the blocker is the only beneficiary, since the others just get DMs and the blocker could care less and will just keep on blocking.

That will help us in judging that how good/bad blocker our driver is and risks can be set in that manner imo :-)

*antoniorebelo*

why exactly, this?

plus, who said 0 blocking skill would necessarily mean as good a blocker as drivers currently are? What if bad blockers would be worse than now and blockers with skill 100-150ish would be around as good as now?

That said, I am still not a fan of changing anything in the current driverskill system since it works. But worth thinking about

Shersh, an F1 driver does not have blocking skills, only Overtaking skills, anyone can block, even a non F1 driver can block but not everyone can overtake, not even many F1 drivers are able to overtake.

And please, pay atention to your ideas, you have been here for quite a while, if you pay atention to how track nature makes overtaking extremely difficult, and how much a driver can choose to block, your idea makes me think you are just posting it to enjoy seeing people reaction, but of course i am hopefully wrong about you...

You are kidding right?

Some drivers can defend their position way smarter and longer than others under the same conditions in real world.

What made you think that I just post here to enjoy seeing other people reactions ???
If that were the case I would have made 2 threads everyday .

I am making a suggestion only when I thought that it can be a useful skill.

Whenever a manager promotes to higher league, he is not generally competitive at the start so overtaking skills will be less useful than blocking/defending skills.

Also a more aggressive driver will be able to overtake more easily as compared to a less aggressive one so overtaking skill is already there.

Quote ( Mark Wright @ October 10th 2013,13:42:55 )

Doesn't mean you will be able to overtake or won't get a DM.

Sorry, you are much more experienced manager than what I am but DM can happen at any time { nothing to do with anything here }
That is the main benifit of the skill I am discussing, good defending skills will lead to less DMs while defending your position :-)

Off Topic : 15 thumbs down , wow, is it that bad a suggestion ? :p

Yes, DMs can happen any time, but most of the DMs have everything to do with overtaking attempts. And those DMs just happen in the large majority of the cases to the driver attempting to pass.

Except when the blocker just keeps cutting you off and you can't pass to save your life. Even worse, that attempt throws you into a spin because you were too aggressive.

We should have a skill called "Speed", so that we know how fast a driver can be.

That is a good idea.
