Hard to choose, but I`d say 2000...Ferrari`s 1st Drivers WC in 21 years and Schumacher`s first of his 5 in a row streak and the last season which saw Hakkinnen and Schumacher fight for the title.

I guess you know nothing about 1988 season...

To be honest I wasn't watching so it would feel quite hypocrite to talk about it something i didn't see. :)

But of course from the stories, to watch it live would've been really nice, and it would certainly surpass the Red-Bull clash.

'84 season for me, though I probably wouldn't enjoy it now.
But I was 12 at the time.

Long Beach in '83 was the first F1 race I can remember - I'd been watching F1 for a while and was a fan of Lauda because he was my car in the Scalextric set we'd got for Christmas (as well as for the romance of his return to racing from that accident). That race saw Watson and Lauda race their McLarens up from 20-something on the grid to take a 1-2 at the flag. It was just brilliant Roy of the Rovers stuff, a real epic, and it turned me into a mad F1 and McLaren fan.

In '84, my favourite team dominated and my favourite driver won the title (by half a point!), which is as good as life gets when you're 12. The battle between Lauda and Prost was classic, Prost with the speed but Lauda with the experience (something which Prost got to experience from the other side a while later when he was paired with Senna).

It was also the season Senna made his debut, and featured a brilliantly entertaining Monaco where Senna first really showed his class in the rain, and where I first got to piss myself laughing at Mansell crashing out of the lead.

For me it's 2008, namely because it's the first season of which I've watched the entirety of...

and because the title wasn't decided until the final lap of the final round in Brazil. I liked 2009 too, but it didn't seem to capture that same... energy, at least for me as the 2008 season did.

And had one of the best overtaking of history when Hakkinen pass Schumacher at the end of the straight of Spa with Ricardo Zonta in the middle!!

It's hard to stay unbiased because when I got in to F1 i was a child and it was in the 1997-1999 era where in my opinion, all of the contenders were in their prime in cars they could push beyond the limit. Villeneuve, Schumacher, Coulthard, and Frentzen were epic in those seasons. It was also the coming of age for Hakkinen who was amazing.

But after a few years of casual investigation, most years in the 70s and early 80s were the same, with the late 80s providing some of the best rivalries and entertainment which has yet to be seen in F1 since. Even though these seasons were before I was born, I can appreciate the driver's impact on the pace of each car. Lauda in the 70s was great, Prost, and later on Senna in the 80s were awesome. Schumacher was the one who combined exceptional raw talent with both developmental skill and a will to win which was so strong that he had to crash people off to try and win. Schumacher would have won in 1997 but his cheating cost him that title.

In the modern era, I'll go out on a limb and say 07-08 were great for the Ferrari vs McLaren fans. 09 was epic just because of the natural progress of the season: Brawn starting strong, then Red Bull coming to prominence, '10 had some amazing battles between all four drivers from RBR & McLaren, and of course Alonso from 2010-2012 had to be in his prime and his unbelievable wins in those years made it even better to watch: he solidified himself as one of the greats IMO. So far, 2014 has not failed to deliver!

It is difficult for non-enthusiasts to pin-point an actual year which had the best combination of everything: best drivers in the best teams racing the the title. But my favourite season to watch live was 2010.

For me, it's 1950, the first race in the Formule 1. Never seen any race of course (live) but some video's and dvd's give me a look at it. Think about Fangia in his Alfa Romeo and his 5x championship. I takes 45 years before Schumacher beat that. The "romance" of this races are beautiful to see. The cars, without all that technology these days, it was more about the engine, but most of all the talents of the drivers

Fangio was 5 times champion with several different cars. but the car was not all back then... good times.

2010 for me, similar to 2007 but without all the controversy of the espionage conspiracy....that kinda tarnished the 2007 season to some degree. 2010 was quality right to the finish.

2007 was also like this. Same with 2006 (at least towards the end of that year). 2009 was a great battle of endurance: Brawn sprinted away, but Red Bull reeled them in towards the end.

2010 was a great battle between RBR, McLaren & Ferrari. This was by far Alonso's best performance throughout a season. If Petrov wasn't so desperate to hold him off, he would've won it easily.

2013 was great in the beginning but Red Bull & Vettel made it so boring at the end.

1984, Prost vs Lauda ended by Lauda 0.5 points better off
1989 Senna/Prost rivalry is always good to watch
1998-1999 both were alright, especially the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix.
2003 was okay of a season, had some great surprises like 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix
2007 was fantastic, 3 drivers going into Brazil as championship contenders, Raikkonen went into the race 7 points off the lead and ended it 1 point in the lead.
2008 was brilliant until Timo Glock ruined it on lap 71 of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Massa should have a championship to his name.
2010 was great, when Vettel actually made some races early in the season quite interesting, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was crap but a pretty good season. And a five way fight (four way fight in the last race) for the title.
2012 was probably my favourite since the two most boring tracks ever (Valencia + Abu Dhabi) produced 2 of the best races that season, and some great performances that you wouldn't expect like Perez, Maldonado somehow winning, and Kobayashi's podium in Japan.

He didn't ruin anything, if he wouldn't have taken te gamble on tires he would have been behind Hamilton as he was before the rain came.

What annoys me is that people are saying the season is boring and its overshadowing the fact that in terms of the Championship we could have one of the great seasons.

Bahrain, Spain, Canada, Austria and Silverstone were great races.
